Ted Haggard on Oprah -

I know this is a weird first post and all, but I have been a lurker on here for a while. Anyhow...
Oprah is coming on in ten minutes, and the guests on the show today are Ted Haggard and his wife. Anyone going to watch?

I won't be ...

This should be interesting/entertaining.
Thoughts on Ted and his fall?
Yep ... he is a huge hypocrite that apparently believed the term "practice what you preach" didn't apply to him. Perhaps he is one of those that believe salvation=no further accountability.

I heard he was going to be on Oprah but wasn't able to watch. I think he's also going to be on Larry King. I'm sort of interested in what he has to say. Someone needs to find it on youtube and post it.
I don't hold anything against the man because he's obviously a bisexual, but being one and preaching against it at the same time is definitely hypocritical. I simply hope that he has dusted himself off, and continues to do his best to follow Christ.

Wow. This is almost painful to watch.
I am really surprised by how little scripture he is using. Maybe it's because of his intent to connect with the Oprah's audience.?

Indeed, his hypocrisy is well documented. I do think that much good will come of his public struggle. The church (in the US in particular) has glossed over/ignored the issue of homosexuality save for several decades where it is strongly chastised.

I do hope some good will come of it. If the church acknowledges that people struggle with things - particularly homosexuality - and there must be a more comprehensive solution for them than just glossing over/ignoring their "deviant" sexual impulses, then that will be a step forward. Unfortunately, the church's history has a crappy history with this.

I'll watch if she ever has Merle Haggard on.
1. Land forever. Gen 17:8 (KJV)
2. City FROM heaven. Rev 21:2 (KJV)
3. Heavenly places. Eph 2:6-7(KJV)
Don't mix them, leavening the whole household of God. Luke 13:21 (KJV)
