I wonder if instead of transvestites, you would find it funny if we had a video of a truck hitting a pro-life protester shoving a picture of near term dead fetuses in the faces of drivers passing by.
How many TOL giggles would that get?
If a pro-life protester was stopping random traffic (that was uninvolved in the protest) and surrounding and terrorizing vehicles filled with innocent people they would not get any sympathy from me if they were hit by a oncoming truck. I have been to protests where I felt that some protesters were provoking innocent parties and I didn't approve of that. Thankfully it wasn't anything even close to what we see in the video in this thread.
It should be noted that the truck that hit the man was illegally driving on the shoulder of the road. True, he was disrupting traffic and making a foolish scene, but he was not actually in traffic at the time, and he should have been safe by the rules.
Also, why the emphasis on sexuality here? The fact that he was hit had nothing to do with the fact that he was homosexual (or transvestite, whatever he was). Some people will just do outrageous things in any context, and he probably would be out there disrupting traffic no matter what cause he was behind.

Exactly. The right to protest does not extend to infringing the rights of others - no matter what the "cause."
The video did not seem to be depicting any sort of protest at all, but rather a bunch of people with nothing better to do than irritate people and interfere with traffic. It's a shame.
Futility: "More than at any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and hopelessness; the other, to total extinction. Let us pray that we will have the wisdom to choose correctly. I speak, by the way, not with any sense of futility, but with a panicky conviction of the absolute meaninglessness of existence."

Hope:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

No cause was evident from the video, and I agree that his dressing up absurdly had nothing to do with it aside from the notion that these folks may have actually "dressed up" for the event.

Well... not to get off topic but I think we could all think of instances where it would be acceptable to infringe on others rights. But that isn't the case with the video in question.

I think the fact that he was wearing a mini-skirt certainly added to the hilarity of the clip.

That isn't true.
The truck appears to be some type of city vehicle (loaded with safety cones), it's very likely that the truck was showing up on the scene to block or slow traffic for the safety of the "street protesters", and therefore the truck was pulling off to the side of the road in some type of official capacity - i.e., not illegally.

That would be even funnier than just some random vehicle.
Sadly, I've got too many kids around me right now to play a vid of men in miniskirts... I'm sure it's a hoot.

You might be right — but that still requires the truck driver to be drunk, asleep, or a moron in general, which undermines all this celebration about the "pervert getting his due." Normally pulling over to the side of the road involves slowing and stopping (before you feel a bump).

Not if you are in a rush to resolve a traffic issue. The last thing you expect if to have someone standing on the road. (especially somebody in a mini-skirt )
Apparently all the rest of the homo's knew to get out of the way otherwise the truck would have completed a "clean sweep".

Watch the video again. A couple of people were still in the lane when the truck came driving on the shoulder. The guy who was hit did get out of the way of normal oncoming traffic, by retreating to the shoulder. (Notice that he was just caught by the right edge of the truck, while walking further towards the edge of the road.)

Yeah, it's hilarious. Thanks for reminding me to watch it a few more times.

One of the funny things about it is that he stopped to pose for the camera as he was hit. watch it again, he had moved a bit but stopped. The truck driver probably thought he was out of the way like the rest of them.

Rev. Lovejoy: "That's Catholic, Marge - you might as well ask me to do a voodoo dance."
"Oh bother" said Pooh, as he chambered the next round.
