This video is a test in empathy. I have a theory that fundies are actually sociopaths and they just use the Bible as an excuse for their behavior. I've noticed that they have a lot of the signs such as glibness, manipulation, a grandiose sense of self, lying, lack of remorse, shallow emotions, a seeming incapacity to love, callousness, paranoia, contempt, authoritarianism, desire to oppress, etc. I want to see if any fundies are actually capable of stepping into a gay person's shoes.
Slogan/motto:
"A day is as a thousand years" is about perspective. Two hours on the highway, to a five year old, seems like an eternity! To a 50 year old trucker, it's just the start of a good morning

This isn't "a gay person's shoes". This is your typical liberal Poor Me Syndrome cry fest.
So, what? You can't engage rationally with "fundies" so you go for an over the top emotional appeal? This ridiculous video exaggerates any social discomfort associated with living as a homosexual to an appalling extreme. You should be completely ashamed of yourself.
I won't deny living as a homosexual in this country even today is difficult and uncomfortable at times. But it's no worse than living as black man. Not much more difficult than living as a woman. And I'd bet on living as a black woman being more uncomfortable much more often. Heck, I'll toss in living as a conservative fundamentalist Christian and place it just a few steps behind living as a homosexual just to get your goat.
This is a disgusting display. Go cry in the corner about how hard it is being gay in the USA. But don't here and expect any respect from me.

So the answer is...no?

I should be ashamed of myself for posting a video which asks the simple question of how would you feel if you were gay?

So you are comparing the difficulties faced by blacks and women to those faced by gays? Interesting.

Thanks for providing support for my theory Miss Sociopath.

So homosexuals are not stigmatized in any way? No one uses the terms "gay", "fag" or "faggot" in derogatory ways? The majority of parents do not wish that they don't have gay kids? Being gay is not seen, nor ever was seen, as a mental disorder? Gay's aren't trying to be "fixed" by unreasonable and dogmatic religious fundamentalists? They have never been murdered, harassed, assaulted just because they are gay? Nor do they hide their sexuality out of fear of this stigma?

That's not at all what this video does. It creates a ludicrous emotional fantasy, labels that "being gay" then asks how you'd feel if you experienced that. Well, I'd feel absolutely terrible pretty much all the time if I suffered what this video illustrates. My problem, as you'd acknowledge if you weren't being a pathetic liar about what it is to live as a homosexual in this society, is that what the video illustrates is not living as a homosexual in this society.
You pathetic lying bigot.

Good Lord, you're painfully stupid.

Thank you for showing the folks around here how homosexuals generally operate when they try to gain acceptance for homosexuality.
They make blatantly and outrageously dishonest emotional appeals for one thing. So blatant and so outrageous that I'm sure I wouldn't be able to accurately illustrate such with mere words. And so I thank you for providing the video.

Pathetic. I said none of those things nor so much as inferred them. That you'd pretend I have or attempt to equate my response to this is just more dishonesty.
Folks, keep it up. By all means. The only people you convince with such dishonest tactics and utter BS are people who are too stupid to do you any good anyway. Rational folks will continue to see through this bull.

You pathetic lying bigot.
Your reaction is absolutely hilarious. You could have quietly suggested that you didn't agree with the scenario, but this emotional overreaction that has you throwing insults and trying to be as offensive as possible is just wonderful. You are making a lot of noise but not providing any specific reasons for why you disagree with this hypothetical scenario. Can you not think of any?

I'm smart enough to know what an ad hominem is.

You are welcome for having an opportunity to demonstrate how you can have a hissy fit and disagree with a video just because it challenges your worldview. Feel free to point out specifically what was dishonest about this video at any time.

I'm not commenting on the video when I call you dishonest for posting it. You can call it ad hominem if you like but I'm specifically addressing you, not the video.
As to the video, I'm not going to waste the next three days and five forum pages arguing a dozen unrelated bits of minutia. I've long since learned arguing with you is a pointless endeavor. You're a moron.
Let the folks watch the video with my simple commentary that it's an outrageously exaggerated emotional appeal. The morons will still buy into it and cry for those poor downtrodden homosexuals and those with a brain will still roll their eyes at how ludicrous it is.
