If he loves me, then why not show himself so I can love him in return?
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
-Romans 1:20-21
Slogan/motto:
"A day is as a thousand years" is about perspective. Two hours on the highway, to a five year old, seems like an eternity! To a 50 year old trucker, it's just the start of a good morning
Because you don't like me. I understand. It's ok to admit it. But what I'm saying is 100% true. I would see no justifiable reason in terminating an embryo after that.
I don't think that is the reason.

And if i can't let me fall on the Grace that first brought me to you"
Really? What about my freedom and right to do what I want with my money?
Your money? That you earn by taking part in the US economy and using the US infrastructure? Do what you like with your share, but there is always a cut for Uncle Sam.
Quote:
To give it to those in need by my own choosing?
You are free to give to whomever you deem worthy, That doesn't take away your obligation as a US citizen to pay your taxes, though.
Quote:
What about an unborn child's right to life?
What about it? Do you think that the left's concern for the rights of mothers negates the rights of their offspring? Realistically it is very hard to afford rights to people who aren't recognized by the government because they aren't counted on any census or registered in any database but if you have any brilliant suggestions I'm listening.
Quote:
What about a poor man's right to triumph over adversity?
What about it? Helping him overcome his adversity is more noble than sitting back and patting yourself on the back for allowing him the challenges of trying to get by in a world that often forgets the little guys.
Quote:
What about a minority's right to be accepted based on character rather than the color of their skin?
What about it? Do you think that trying to counteract the real consequenses of racism negate that?
Quote:
That's a very good question to be asking yourself, PB.
Why? You are the ones who apparently don't understand what it means to be a liberal.
"Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death's other Kingdom
Remember us--if at all--not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the hollow men
The stuffed men." ... T.S. Eliot γνῶθι σεαυτόν
I guess the Left can't act so sanctimonious now. What a shame.
Violence to pursue one's own poltical agenda. Don't really believe the right or left(if you can call it that)could truly say they are morally superior. Let's not talk about all the terrorist acts Christians have committed in the United States, specifically towards abortion clinics.
This might not be related to anti-abortion activities, but maybe he pissed someone off about something else entirely; or maybe he was in an affair with someone's wife or gf.
So, basically I have to look at Nature and just assume that he did it, without knowing completely whether he had a hand in it or not?
Yeah, you see what I mean about faith being stupid??
The point of the verse is that you do know. You just deny it to the point of deceiving yourself.

If Uncle Sam only used it for things that benefit me that are not extravagant and unnecessary I wouldn't have a problem with it. Use the money for roads, fine. I use roads. Use it for Medicare? No. Because I don't use Medicare. If everyone has to pay into Medicare we should all be allowed to use it. But the majority of people on it aren't paying into it. And most of the people on it who did pay into it are receiving my money, and not the money they paid into it.

Oblivious much?

Would that have been your excuse when blacks weren't recognized as people?

Helping him and spoon feeding him are not the same thing.

MLK would roll over in his grave.

Not really.

When did you become an expert on what MLK would and wouldn't do?

Yup, oblivious.
I know you are, LH, but I still hold out hope.

The man dreamed of a day when people would be judged on the content of their character, and not the color of their skin. This is a day we have not reached as a nation.
Only a bloated fundie would confuse whining with logic. "My tax dollars don't go where I want them to go! Waaaaaaaah! Everything in the world isn't exactly how I want it! Waaaaaah!"
Quote:
Try "completely."
No thanks, tool.
Quote:
You honestly can't answer that one?
Nope. I don't see any valid point.
Quote:
And you're still the fool Mr. T pities.
No way, Mr T. and me are like this. He did say that he no longer even pities that fooh, Lighhouse.

Very good. Now how do we change that?
