I see no evidence for that. Do you have any?( And not just videos, I cannot access them easily.). She wasn't perfect in a few interviews but Obama certainly had as many, if not more, faults. The hyperbole and bile was certainly unwarranted. She is also certainly not an idiot.

What is Whiggery? A leveling, rancorous, rational sort of mind, that never looked out of the eye of a saint , or out of a drunkard's eye. All's Whiggery now, but we old men are massed against the world.

You didn't watch the same vids I guess (try You Tube)... or perhaps your definition of idiot is different from mine. I would say that she will never be voted into a high public office again, but people voted Bush Jr. twice so anything can happen I suppose. Once again, claiming Christianity does not make her a viable candidate for any office.

That is not evidence. This is what routinely happens to Palin haters. They get called and can't really back it up but go on insulting her. It is one giant hype that is easily pierced. And I have watched the videos. I don't think she is anything special but the bile and loathing she gets from the left is interesting and worrying.

You don't have to loathe someone to think she is dumber than a box of hair, and when that person is a public figure it isn't bile to say so. Why are you taking this personally?

I'm not, I don't even like her much. I just have a big thing about political honesty and the Palin stuff is one of the biggest inventions I have seen. There is simply little to support it but lies, inaccuracy and hyperbole. And it is clear by the fact all this inaccuracy exists and the virulence that it is pursued with that much of the left and MSM do in fact loath her.

How so? It's one thing to say that I'm wrong and that Palin is in fact a genius but quite another to say that I am dishonest for doubting her fitness be the leader of the free world.

Welcome to politics?
Are you implying that Palin's situation is somehow unique?

It's not really her, it's the idea of her being the face of America to the entire world.

The US president is not my leader but anyway I was not accusing you, just saying her supposed idiocy is mostly built on inaccuracies, hyperbole and lies such as the "Russia" incident where she didn't in fact use the distance of Alaska to Russia as a mark of her foreign policy expertise but simply mentioned it off-hand to say how tied up Russia and America were.

Well yes, it was quite an extreme example.

She's nothing special, Fred Thompson or Ron Paul would have been better, but at least she was moderately socially and politically conservative.

If I were basing my opinion of Palin on that kind of thing you would have a point. She is an actual public figure, however- it is not necessary to rely on rumor to form an opinion. Does it surprise you terribly that someone as polarizing as Palin isn't admired by her idealogical opposites?

I don't think so. Compared to the treatment Obama has been getting she got nothing more than a light hazing.

No of course not, it is more the bile and hatred based on inaccuracies that gets me.

I disagree and with her it was based on very little whereas often Obama's stuff is based on a lot more truth. The left and MSM pretty much aimed to portray a largely invented, contemptible persona for her.

Well, if it makes you feel any better I don't like bile and hatred based on inaccuracies, either.

So Obama IS a kenyan-born, muslim communist?

Kind of like the right does for Obama?
Oh right, it's different when it's Obama...

Good to know.

No, but he did attend a church for years that preached some dodgy messages, he did spend massive amounts etc. There is often truth, though obviously not always to what has been said about Obama though it is often so twisted and warped by some of his opponents that the truth behind it is not very visible. Whereas for Palin a lot of it simply rubbish or almost nothing made into a massive attack.

I simply don't think it is quite so bad with Obama, his persona wasn't manufactured in the same way though certainly there are many idiots on the right who have made dodgy criticisms.

What are you basing this comparison on? It's completely subjective and I think you should own up that this is simple a case of what's good for the goose not being good for the gander due to political affiliation.

I'm basing it mostly on the fact that the MSM and left have so made this fake persona for Palin that in Australia, and no doubt most of the rest of the world outside the US, it is the only one we get whereas the negatives are certainly not all we get of Obama, in fact the reverse would be the more true. This is not subjective.

Palin is feared by the left not only for her idiocy but that of her supporters. Reasonable people do not want an idiot for a leader even if she claims to be Christian.
for me "fear" is not the right word - personally, i would love a Palin/Cheney ticket for 2012
