That's extreme and extremely rediculous... especially to those who don't even believe in God.
So is praying for one's death.

Mr. Beeks has the right idea. Pray, instead, for a change of heart... and policy.
I got a better idea, stop praying, get off your knees and do something. Write letters to the president and congress. Call the Congressional Switchboard and speak your mind. Organize demonstrations or protests. Do I have to teach you people everything?

You assume (incorrectly) that us people aren't already doing that in addition to praying.

I flat out have not and will not utter such a prayer. I won't allow such a thought to come to fruition in my head. I do not presume to tell God His business. I don't even presume to offer advice. I have asked for deliverance from my own stupidity, obtuseness, selfishness and hardness of heart. I pray for the protection of the innocent and the vulnerable. You'd pray in the middle of a home invasion? I seem to remember an old wag about the gods helping those who help themselves. (In other words, grab the gun.)
Of course I would be praying. Praying I wouldn't miss!

Do you not hate those who hate Him with a perfect hatred, as the psalmist did?
You're not telling God what to do, you're asking. I'm curious to know why you have reluctance in asking bad things to happen to bad people.

Merely wishing for another person's death (and not acting upon that wish) causes no harm to the target of that wish, and placing a curse on someone is a waste of time, because curses don't actually do anything.
