Archaeoraptor: featured dinosaur from National Geographic doesn’t fly - June 1st, 2010, 07:49 AM

Oopsie. "A fossil discovered in 1999 was one of many claimed by a number of scientists and promoted by the media, especially National Geographic, to be a feathered dinosaur...Upon further examination by various experts, it was determined that the fossil was actually a fraud. The apparent difference in the body and tail were actually different— from two different organisms. Despite the fact that this and other “feathered dinosaurs” have been shown to be fakes or misinterpretations, the media and many scientists are still claiming feathers should be shown on fossils that show no evidence of feathers." Archaeoraptor: featured dinosaur from National Geographic doesn’t fly, Austin.

Hey snakebird, is there anybody in there? Earth to snakebird. This has been addressed so many times here, I can't believe you keep trotting out this garbage all the time. You seem to be oblivios to reality. But I guess that really doesn't matter to you. As long as you can continue to live in your little glass house.

Nevermind the fact that National Geographic is not a scientific journal and they trotted out their fossil without proper scientific review. It didn't take long for paleontologists to figure out the fossils was a composite of two different but very real fossil animals.

Of course Archaeoraptor is actually just a combination of two REAL fossils:

The famous microraptor (of four winged dinosaur fame) and a true bird, Yanornis

Microraptor itself is a gliding feathered dinosaur!

I think the orderlies let snakebird out of her four point restraint again. So she is now frantically trying to litter this site with quotes that only demonstrate her muddied mental state.

Point out an actual ad hominem if you see one. Tip- try looking through your own posts. You make quite a few in your misguided crusade against truth.

You like to make every thread a debate about ad hominem attacks. This thread is about Archaeoraptor.

Then why do you call any criticism of your "theories" ad homs then turn around and make actual ad hom attacks on anyone who challenges you?

NOG, "I can't believe you keep trotting out this garbage all the time" to everyone who posts a TRUTH. If it's true, then it should should sound like a broken record. You don't seem to have a problem with people who utter lies repeatedly AS LONG AS THEY AGREE with your worldview.

Nog, don't send me any private emails with statements, "You are not to be trusted." I imagine if you send them to me, you send them to everyone you don't agree with.

God bless, Tom from Mabank, TX

Trotting out the same hoax over and over again (complete with misinformation about it) like it actually disproves evolution, or shows that feathered dinosaur fossils don't exist is lame and dishonest.

The "fake" fossil is made up of two real ones . . .

Is this a case like Piltdown, where the theory of natural selection has been used to predict that a discovery of remains would be uncovered as a forgery?

How many such predictions have creationists made?
