All the atheists on TOL (which includes you Wiz), and show them that when they enter a House of God, they really don't melt.
I like visiting churches and cathedrals, so long as they're architecturally beautiful (could be gothic, neo-gothic, modernist or other - I don't really mind), because I like to visit places that have transcendent contemplation in mind. They have their own grandeur and beauty, and the good ones are designed both for impressive architectural features, and also for thoughtful use of light (both natural and artificial) as well as acoustic properties (amplified or otherwise).
I like Japanese Buddhist architecture for many of the same reasons.
