Dispensations -

Do you believe in dispensations? Yes. I currently believe in seven. I learned about them at Word of Life Bible Institute: http://www.wol.org/biblei/
I really want to know what people think about all of this, about the rapture, the seven-year tribulation, thousand year millennium reign of Jesus, Armageddon. I know a bunch of people say different things about these kinds of things. Feel free to state what you believe, feel free to use scriptures, and feel free to explain why.
I have also heard about a tribulation gap theory which suggest that there might be a gap between the rapture and the seven-year tribulation.
Some suggest that the tribulation already took place. Others suggest that we're living in the tribulation. Some believe in mid-tribulation rapture. Then there are several other views on when the rapture is suppose to happen depending on how you look at it, interpretation, hermeneutics, application.
We also have to ask where is Satan in all of this. Satan must still be stuck in Hell right now until He is released during the tribulation or during the Armageddon war. Then is Satan release again at the end of the millennium of Christ to lead a rebellion in one more war before Satan is thrown into the Lake of Fire and where God and His people live happily ever after, the end, right?

Hi there,
I would love to discuss these subjects with you. Though maybe it would be better if you gave each topic a different thread to avoid confusion.
The dispensations
The rapture
The 7 year tribulation
The millennium reign of Christ
Armageddon
The tribulation 'gap' theory
Satan, where he is now, during the millenium and after
Later.
In Christ
Our risen and glorified
Saviour, Lord and Head
Wings
But it was all written in Hebrew or Greek or Aramaic. Jesus and Christ is the same Person.
nice dodge
but
there is a big difference between the 'reign of Jesus' which requires the second coming
and
someone reigning 'with Christ' which doesn't

Dispensationalism is an 18th century invention by a couple of religious outcasts (one actually served time in jail for theft of his mother in laws inheritance).
It was also not taught by any of Jesus' disciples... so there can be no doubt that it is a false belief.
It has also done more damage to the world then islam over the past 200 years.

DISPENSATION (FOLLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT)
Col 1:25-26
25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
2 Cor 5:5
5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
Eph 3:2-5
2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
Eph 3:6-7
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
Eph 1:10-11
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
1 Cor 9:17-19
17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
Gal 1:8
8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:11-12
11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

when you say 'reign of Christ' which is not in Rev 20 it forces you to look to the future for the thousand year reign
but
if you accept what is written
and
that is 'reign with Christ' it allows you to look into history for this period
since
when two or three are gathered in His name
He will be with them

Hi there,
Thank you for responding.
Rev 20:1-8
' ... And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.
This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
*'reign with Christ' - I understand that using the exact wording is always far better.
* Don't you consider the 1,000 year reign to be a future event Chrysostom? If not would you mind explaining why that is?
* What is the significance of your closing words in relation to this? you quote Matthew 18:20.
'For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.'
Rev 20:1-8

I would consider a future thousand year reign
but
only after I have eliminated the possibility that it has already happened
and
for that we have the Byzantine Empire

Hi again,
What makes you think that the Byzantine Empire fits the description of the 1,000 year reign? Forgive me, I know nothing about this.
