The 2010 TOL Posts of the Year Awards - December 20th, 2010, 01:05 PM

THE AWARDS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED!!!

January 1st is the biggest event of the year on TheologyOnline!

January 1st is the day of the biggest event of the year on TheologyOnline.com, yes, it's the 2010 Posts of the Year awards with your host, Knight (that's me). As you know every year (since 2002) I countdown the greatest posts made on TOL every year. You may ask yourself "how are these posts picked"? Well, the picking goes something like this.... I round-up all the Post of the Day picks that I have made each year and then a team of 300 experts in every field known to man rates each post on a points system based on hundreds of factors and variables, (each score is then multiplied by .23) after that process is complete the posts are placed on a spinning wheel and monkeys throw their own fecal matter against the wheel. Posts that accumulate the most fecal matter are awarded extra points. After that process is complete I personally review the results and then throw the results into an incinerator that burns at exactly 1650 degrees Fahrenheit. Finally I rate all the post of the year candidates based on my own opinion as to which posts are the best and place them in order from best to least best. I also may pick posts that weren't picked as Posts of the Day yet are still worthy of being awarded a Post of the Year. So just because you haven't had a Post of the Day doesn't mean you will not get a Post of the Year!

Throughout the day on January 1st 2011 (and in this thread) I will be slowly releasing the winners. I will also be placing every winning selection in this post so you can easily find all of this years winner.

Before we get started you may want to take a trip down memory lane.....

The Posters of the year awards
One might think this would simply be a duplicate of the posts of the year except given to the poster that made the post and not the post itself. Oh no, it doesn't work that way. The poster of the year is weighted so that folks that have more Posts of the Year will get more points and therefore finish higher than folks that have only one post of the year award. For instance, the person who receives the best post of the year might only have that one post in the award show and therefore he would receive less points than a person who might have had three Posts of the Year. The Posters of the Year takes into account BOTH quality and quantity of posts.

The TOL Post Authors of the year awards are as follows....

Rank, score, username

34) 7.5 fool
33) 7.5 The Graphite

TheologyOnline.com Members Hall of Fame.
Starting this year we will now award 5 Hall of Fame awards to the TOL members that we feel help make TOL the most interesting community on the internet.

Hall of Fame Members may be recognized for....
- Length or amount of participation on TOL
- Quality of posts over a long period of time
- Loyalty and support of TheologyOnline.com
- Accumulation of POTD or Post of the Year awards
- Dedication and service to TOL

Hall of Fame Class for 2010
I will send 5 TOL members to the TOL Hall of Fame. The recipient of the 2010 TruthSmacker award will automatically be one of the 5 new Hall of Fame members and the other 4 will be picked at large by me. These 5 new Hall of Fame members will join: Poly, Turbo, bob b, Bob Enyart, Delmar, ghost, godrulz, lucky, chatmaggot, Adambassador, Yorzhik, Granite, Psalmist, Hilston, and ebenz.

The first inductee into the TOL Hall of Fame for 2010 is....

MaryContrary

MaryContray is inducted into the Hall of Fame for her unwavering sense of smack. If MaryContrary is on your tail... you are gonna get smacked no "ands", "ifs", or "buts" about it.

Congratulations MaryContrary!

The second inductee into the TOL Hall of Fame for 2010 is....

Chickenman

Chickenman is calm, cool, and collect, but don't let his friendly southern charm fool you, this TruthSmacker smacks with the best of them and always has facts lined up to make his arguments air-tight. Chickenman is also recognized for his dedication and support for the TOL mission and for that.... we are forever grateful.

Congratulations Chickenman!

The third inductee into the TOL Hall of Fame for 2010 is....

TomO

Sometimes you just need to laugh, and nobody makes me laugh harder than TomO. This long time TOL member has been laying down truth in a fun and witty way for years and years. I always make it a point to read all of TomO's new posts. And for his efforts he is now in the elite group of Hall of Fame members.

Congratulations TomO!

The fourth inductee into the TOL Hall of Fame for 2010 is....

fool

Yes... atheists can make it into the TOL Hall of Fame. Over the years I have really grown to love reading fool's posts, he is funny, clever, and also has a good grasp on many topics. I pray that fool comes around and joins us in Christ because I would love to hang out with him in heaven for eternity (I mean that with all my heart and soul). fool is inducted into the TOL Hall of Fame for making TOL a more fun and interesting place to participate!

Congratulations fool!

The winner of the 2010 Truthsmacker of the Year Award as well as the The fifth inductee into the TOL Hall of Fame for 2010 is....

Stripe

Stripe is one of my all-time favorite TOL'ers. His tireless work in the creation threads is much appreciated especially after our good friend and fellow Hall of Fame Member bob b passed away. Stripe also knows when to call a moron a moron, and I doubt anyone has used the mocking smilie more than Stripe (that should account for something right?). Stripe lives on the other side of the world from me and I would love if someday, somehow... Stripe could come to visit so that I could meet him in person. Thank you for all your dedication and participation over the years my friend!!

Stripe

Congratulations Stripe!

And that's it for 2010 - see ya next year and remember.... MAKE GREAT POSTS!!!

I think this year I will keep my expectations low and be happy with a post in the top 3 . . .

It should also be noted that tons and tons of great posts go unrecognized in the Post of the Year awards because frankly... I can't read 'em all.

I will also be awarding the Poster of the Year award which is based on number of posts and rank within the Post of the Year awards (Chickenman was last years winner). And I will also award a non-points award called TruthSmacker of the Year award which goes to somebody I think has consistently smacked truth all year long, last years award went to chatmaggot.
