Be Like God

Rom 2:4
(4) Do you have contempt for God, who is very kind to you, puts up with you, and deals patiently with you? Don't you realize that it is God's kindness that is trying to lead you to him and change the way you think and act?

A lovely teaching, for edification and encouragement to listen to, from the Living Hope Ministries:

Exodus 34:6 and 7 God reveals Himself. He is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving-kindness, abounding in truth; He keeps loving-kindness for thousands, forgives sin, and by no means leaves the guilty unpunished.

Matthew 5:43-48 The attributes of God are to be emulated by His children. We are to be like God!

Colossians 3:12-14 God is compassionate; therefore, we are to be compassionate.

Titus 3:1-11 God has been so gracious to all people that we should likewise share grace one with another and avoid foolish controversies and factious people.

1Peter 3:20; 2Peter 3:5-9; Ephesians 4:1-3; and 1Thessalonians 5:14 and 15 God is slow to anger, longsuffering; so should we be.

Nehemiah 9:17; Romans 2:4 Once again, God is our model to follow regarding this aspect of love.

Ephesians 4:31 and 32 Kindness is contrasted with the hardhearted attitudes of bitterness, wrath, anger, etc.

Ephesians 4:12-16, 25, 29-5:2 God is abounding in truth, and we too should speak truth one to another. If we bite and devour one another, we destroy God's people and demean His desires.

Matthew 6:12-15 God forgives and fully expects His children to do the same. Let it go! If you keep on thinking about it and talking about it, forgiveness most likely has not yet been realized.

But we can be in His Image and He has given us help, it's journey & an adventure, to learn His Ways, and it's exciting. We ask and He will listen:

2Pe 1:3-8
(3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
(4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
(5) And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
(6) And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
(7) And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
(8) For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We have been given a choice. He will help us and His voice will tell us which way to go, which way to take: To steal or not to steal, listen to His voice. To commit adultery or not to commit adultery, listen to His voice. To lie or not to lie, listen to His voice. To kill or not to kill, listen to His voice.

He will teach us, guide us and help us.

When we love, we will not steal, we will listen to His voice. When we love, we will not lie, we will listen to His voice. When we love, we will not cheat on our spouse, we will listen to His voice. When we love, we will not kill, we will listen to His voice.

Love covers a multitude of sins, it's an adventure and a journey.

This way, with all of God's people you will be able to understand how wide, long, high, and deep his love is. You will know Christ's love, which goes far beyond any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be completely filled with God.

It's about time we have a thread where we can praise our awesome, loving God and Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

This Psalm I pray:

Psa 65:1 God in Zion, we praise you and give you what we promised.

Psa 65:4 Oh, how wonderful it is to be the people you chose to come and stay in your Temple. And we are so happy to have the wonderful things that are in your Temple, your holy palace.
Psa 65:5 God, you answer our prayers and do what is right. You do amazing things to save us. People all over the world know they can trust in you, even those who live across the sea.

Psa 65:7 You can calm the roughest seas or the nations raging around us.

Loving God is the most amazing thing, calling us out from darkness into His marvellous light (1Peter 2:9). Giving us help in this age, The New Covenant to be guided back to Him, by writing His laws onto our hearts and mind.

Heb 10:16-17
(16) This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
(17) And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

2Co 3:3-4
(3) It's clear that you are Christ's letter, written as a result of our ministry. You are a letter written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, a letter written not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
(4) Christ gives us confidence about you in God's presence.

1Ch 16:34-36
(34) "Give thanks to the LORD because he is good, because his mercy endures forever.
(35) Say, 'Rescue us, O God our Savior. Gather us and save us from the nations so that we may give thanks to your holy name and make your praise our glory.'

(10) Love never does anything that is harmful to a neighbor. Therefore, love fulfills Moses' Teachings.
(11) You know the times in which we are living. It's time for you to wake up. Our salvation is nearer now than when we first became believers.
(12) The night is almost over, and the day is near. So we should get rid of the things that belong to the dark and take up the weapons that belong to the light.

. God made us so we could become like He is with a Godly type Love that compels Him to do all He does (making it the most powerful force). Obtaining this Godly type Love is the real issue since it cannot be just instinctively given to us (robotic love) and it cannot be forcible given to us ( Love or I torture you) for that would not be Loving on God’s part and the love that was forced on us would not be Godly type Love.


Man’s objective seems to be to obtain and grow this Godly type Love to fulfill the mission (statement) of Love God and secondly others with all our heart, soul, mind, and energy.

This Godly type Love is defined by Jesus’ words and deeds (you can also use 1 Cor 13 and 1 John 4).

Since God is “Love” and part of the definition of Godly type Love is unselfishness God is totally unselfish? If God is totally unselfish, He will do and allow all He can to help those that are just willing to accept His help fulfill their objective (Love). That “all” includes: Christ to go to the cross, satan to roam the earth, tragedies of all kind, hell, evil, and even sin.

God is not trying to trying to get us to do something, but is trying to give us the most powerful force in all universes if we will just accept the gift as it was given (charity). Having Godly Love is having the most powerful force in all universes.

Will we know people do not like to accept charity especially from a giver that paid a huge price? People will try to earn the gift, pay back the gift, be more deserving of the gift than the next person or just say they got the gift without having to accept it. The easiest way to accept the gift is through accepting God’s forgiveness (this is after you have sinned) since forgiveness is charity, grace, mercy Love. AND Jesus has taught us “…he that is forgiven much will Love much…”

The problem is God wants us to be like He is (God’s Love is compelling Him to create beings that can Love like He Loves and made these beings for the sake of those that will accept His Love).

We need to be weary, and be alert, in these last days:

2Ti 3:1-5
(1) You must understand this: In the last days there will be violent periods of time.
(2) People will be selfish and love money. They will brag, be arrogant, and use abusive language. They will curse their parents, show no gratitude, have no respect for what is holy,
(3) and lack normal affection for their families. They will refuse to make peace with anyone. They will be slanderous, lack self-control, be brutal, and have no love for what is good.
(4) They will be traitors. They will be reckless and conceited. They will love pleasure rather than God.
(5) They will appear to have a godly life, but they will not let its power change them. Stay away from such people.

Let us be real believers and not get caught up in other stuff of this world. Let us be real believers and be like God, let us accept His instruction, and not be hyprocrites, let us be genuine in our faith to God, and ask for His instruction.

Rev 3:5-6
(5) Everyone who wins the victory this way will wear white clothes. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life. I will acknowledge them in the presence of my Father and his angels.
(6) Let the person who has ears listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
