EARLY CHRISTIANS ON THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST'S HISTORIC CHURCH -
July 14th, 2011, 04:03 PM
"Those who desert the preaching of the Church call into question the teachings of the holy elders [bishops]. They don't even consider how much more a religious man is worth than a blasphemous and insolent pseudo-intellectual.
"That's what all the heretics are, and all those who imagine they've found something more beyond the truth [i.e., that the bishops preach]. Following all the heresies I've talked about, they go on their way in all different directions, with no agreement, and foolishly. They don't always keep the same opinions about the same things. They're like the blind leading the blind. They deserve to fall into the ditch of ignorance that runs along their path, always looking for the truth and never finding it.
"We should avoid their teachings, and be careful not to be injured by them. Instead, we should flee to the Church, and be brought up in her bosom, and be nourished with the Lord's Scriptures."
~ St. Irenaeus, AgainstHeresies, 5.20.2 (2nd cent. A.D.)
"The very tradition, teaching, & faith of the Catholic Church from the beginning was preached by the Apostles & preserved by the Fathers. On this the Church was founded..." ~ St. Athanasius (4th cent.)

Hi , and where do you see christians in the Gospels ??
Where is the Greek word CHRISTINOS found in the Gospels ??
NONE of course , but I find tons of Jews !!!
And Jesus commanded the disciples NOT TO GO TO GENTILES in Matt 10:5 , Go not into the way of the Gentiles !!
Verse 6 , But rather go to the LOST SHEEP of the House of Israel and I know that you have comment on it , BUT WRONG !!
What EKKLESIA / ASSEMBLY are you talking about ??
The Assembly in the wilderness , which is Israel !!
The Assembly of God , in Gal 1:13 ??
Or the Assembly which is His Body , which Paul in in !! dan p

Why is this not a good thing? i.e. to call into question the 'holy' elders. Insane cultists all share a common phenomenon: the exclusion of all outside or contrary ideas.
Even God allows Satan to present His case before the uneducated creation. I think the RCC does way too much damage to knowledge in hiding it from people, like doing their service in Latin, and burning people for reading and translating the Bible. Long live John Huss [in heaven of course] for your church had him burnt at the stake....
Unless of course you guys are trying to hide something????
You Catholics are all the same, you guys remind me of the hippopotumus sorry to be so rude.....

QUESTION: How would denying the doctrinal authority of the Church that Jesus founded be a good thing, and where in the New Testament is such a thing permitted, let alone encouraged?

Looks like you've swallowed whatever anti-Catholic propaganda you've been fed by your preferred Protestant sectarian doctrinal tradition. For example, biblical knowledge was never "kept from the people," nor were people ever executed merely for reading the Bible. That's nonsense. In fact, every medieval Catholic Church had a copy of the Scriptures available for those few who could read. I'm afraid you've been badly misinformed regarding what Catholics actually believe and teach.

First, to say the Bible teaches us to believe in things without proving them is absolutely false. Even the prophets of old were to be given tests, Deut 13....
Jesus commanded us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
Paul complimented the bereans in their search of scripture to see wether what he said was the truth.
So, blind acceptance is not the way of the LORD!
Second, yes your church burnt and killed myriads of people for translating and reading the translations of christians who didn't come into your iron maiden. Your church bought and burned Tyndales first publications of the New Testament in English, which is kind of ironic because it gave him the money to print more.
Foxes book of martyrs is sufficent reading material to know the spirit that pervades the RCC.
I wish Luther and Calvin and Huss and wycliffe were here now to bear witness against you and your lofty harlot organization. When are you blind moles gonna come out of your dirt swept under the rug church?
I wait for the day when God breaks the teeth of your beastly empire. I know you may of grown up in the Catholic church and fell under its demonic trance like power but unless you come out of that sin peddling prostitute you will share in her sins like Revelation 18 says.
Don't be so foolish, come into the light

QUESTION: How do you know your not a brain in a vat?
I take the Catholic church to be like the wizard of Oz. When the curtain is pulled back all that is controlling this huge scary all powerful wizard is man, not God. You scare society into control and you are one of the oldest and cruelest authoritative powers this hurt world has ever known, back off .
You are like the 'Matrix' were your jesuit agents just keep coming. Deceiving and being deceivied you fight against the Savior himself, I am not talking about Mr. Reeves of course.
Never allowing anyone to question you lying there like an unconcious body in a dream state. Wake up and smell the coffee, your fruit is full of rotteness and your tree is infested with bugs. Seperate yourselves from the unclean and the LORD will receive you
