Will Barack Obama be re-elected? - August 20th, 2011, 01:43 PM

Will Barack Obama be re-elected for a 2nd term?

Why or why not? If not, who will beat him?

No.

Because God doesn't hate America that much.

If "None of the Above" is a choice, no. If any of the republican front-runners are nominated, he's very likely to win.

That's the rub. Anyone who isn't so flakey as to offend the voters even more than Obama, hasn't a prayer of getting the republican nomination. The current choices:

God bless us, every one.

Looking at the Republican field, I'd say they had better start thinking about 2016.

Obama should breeze into a second term, despite all the economic problems.

He will be re-elected. His second term will be better because he has learned some valuable lessons. I hope.

I can appreciate your optimism! If he wins, I certainly hope you're right!

He will be.

The last three have shown me that the days of 1-term president are over, barring one committing aggravated assault using a dead baby he fathered via his 13 year-old daughter on an episode of Jersey Shore.

And it HAS to have been on Jersey Shore.

Otherwise, no matter how badly he screws up, no matter how many millions of tax dollars and/or American troops he wastes, the opposition will NOT be able to find anyone who can beat him.

I wouldn't say breeze in, but looking at the GOP field I can see Obama winning a second term.

2012 is the Republican's to lose. If they offer a candidate that can unite the factions, if they can successfully hammer Obama relentlessly on his failures, if they can successfully split his base, they can win.

He's a weak candidate. Hopefully the Republicans won't nominate a weaker one.

wrt splitting his base:

Quote:
The Black War Over Obama

African-American leaders fear academic rebel Cornel West’s fierce attacks on the president could spell trouble in 2012.

How did Cornel West become the administration’s No. 1 gadfly? The noted African-American scholar and radio host may have helped Barack Obama into the White House, but he has spent the better part of the president’s term taking shots at him, calling him a “black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs,” among other names. “These last few weeks have only proven my point about Brother Obama,” West says in his signature “one love” voice as he talks about the debt-reduction debacle on Capitol Hill. “He simply caved in again.”

Never mind the slings and arrows of Tea Partiers. The most politically problematic criticism of Obama these days is coming from his base. And there’s no question that there is a deep reservoir of frustration, confusion, and even rage among many in the African-American community for West to tap into. With unemployment hovering near 17 percent for African-Americans (the national average rate is 9 percent) and 11 percent of black homeowners facing imminent foreclosure, African-Americans have ample reason for anxiety about the coming budget cuts that Obama reluctantly signed into law this month.

Now, whether the Republican candidate can exploit that and offer something better to those poor idiots who fell for hope and change three years ago?

When Obama plays the "WE KILLED OSAMA" card, he will sweep the vote. Watch this one play out.

Thus far, I see no one in the RNC camp who could sustain a campaign and come close to winning. It almost feels like the Republicans have given up.

Heck, they outta run a Trump/Palin ticket and at least give us some entertainment LOL

I do not think that he will run for reelection. He will have a nervous breakdown, before then. The "job" so to speak, is far too difficult for most men. It is way above the capacity of a very flawed man like Obama, who lacks character and moral integrity.

He has spent more time golfing, vacationing, and partying, than working! It is how he has maintained his sanity thus far. He will need a permanent break soon, or he will have a breakdown. IMHO

No one who COULD beat him will get the nomination, because the ones who CAN beat him are those who refuse to toe the party line.
