Again to clarify...........TH, bottom line, you are-were in favor of allowing the building of the Mosque, at or near the ground zero location.
You can simply answer yes or no, or restate your position in its entirety. It is obviously up to you.
When I meet a Christian who lies cheats steals swears and commits adultery, I can genuinely question their faith. Don't you? "You can tell them by their fruit"
If I meet a Christian who as far as I know does none of these but favors-promotes Islam, abortion, homosexuality, socialism, and is consistently on the liberal side, of issues, I can genuinely question their faith. Don't you?
Someone like you who seems to be a moderate middle of the roader, and tough to pin down sometimes. It is much more difficult.
Your tendency through your post is to often allow for the immoral side of an issue based upon a higher priority. Sounds good, and I think you believe it. Maybe you don't? Who knows? Only you and God know for sure.
I have never met you, nor you me. From what you post I strongly suspect you are a liberal Christian at best. Let's just leave it at that.
I generally enjoy your wit and humor. I do not trust your positions they are very sly, IMHumbleO!
he is against abortion and thinks it should be illegal but thinks an amendment to the constitution is the answer which somehow allows him to vote for democrats and ignores the fact that those democrats who can get 41 votes to block conservative judges will not come up with 34 to block the amendment
Dishonest and ignorant, to take those points in order. First, if we win the popular sentiment, attacking by issue and not by party it will be no more a matter of that than it was for any other amendment. Secondly, who did I vote into the Senate and House, Chrys? What other "Democrats" got my vote?
Quote:
he also thinks homosexuality is a sin but somehow thinks they have a right to marry
Thanks for underscoring my earlier point that your position on that was a reflection of your dogma. Doesn't it feel good to stop all that revisionist nonsense and tell the truth?
Rather, I believe homosexuality is a sin, but that absent a secular justification we cannot abrogate an adult's right to contract in a secular compact. Not to suit me, or chrys, or the Muslim looking to insinuate Sharia law.

and ignores the protection every child should have through the marriage of their mother and father
Another bald faced assumption riddled prevarication. Gold medal passive aggressive though.

So that's a No You Can't (restate my opinion) then...thin stuff upon which to assault honor and faith. Why on earth would I feel or should I feel obligated to restate what I set out clearly and repeatedly to begin with. Rather, you should know what it is you're talking about before you attach your reputation to an advance against another man's character.

Sure. And I could and would make the case for it.

Which I don't.

Also not the case.

You could and certainly should ask that person how they reconcile the stance that speaks to each of these and challenge on it. Let me know when you find someone you can actually hang these on beyond the declarative. Should prove interesting.

As chrys should have learned, it's never hard to understand me if you're willing to stop making assumptions and just ask a question or two.

Again, enough with the unsupported declarations.

No. Let's not. Else, you're a libelous coward. You don't get to challenge faith and honor and walk away as if we simply disagree. Put up or kindly shut up.

If there's an once of humility in you it's not evident in this sorry practice.

So since you neither answered yes or no, but instead are claiming I do not remember your position., then obviously I misjudged you and do not remember correctly. You are "clearly" inferring that you were not, and are not now, in favor of allowing the Mosque to be built.
I stand corrected and ask you for forgiveness because I truly remember you debating me as one who favored the Imam {he claimed to be trying to build a bridge across cultures and religions} and supported his right to build it. I must have you mixed up with someone else, probably Granite.
For the record Town Heretic does not favor nor want to allow the building of the mosque at or near ground zero. I am sorry for misrepresenting you.
You and I are in agreement on this issue. I did not want the city of New York to allow the building to go up, either. Property rights and freedom of religion rights, {which we hold so dear} were superseded by the rights of a nation and a people to not be insulted by the very name of and and religion which sent 3 thousand innocent Americans to their deaths.
I think you are being specious. I really thought it should have gone to TH. He often is on the wrong side of moral issues, in a sometimes brilliant, and often witty way. His defense of building the mosque -cultural center at ground zero, is classic sophistry.

Rather he questioned your bizarre notion that the purpose of marriage is to protect the child but don't let that trifling little detail stop your ongoing mantras....

And Chrys is still unable to explain *what children*?

Rather, I gave you my answer and you apparently can't defend your attacks. Shamtastic.
Doesn't trouble me. I figure that you meet everyone as a friend the ones who don't merit the address will sort themselves out.

Again , please accept my apology! I misunderstood you once again. Now you are clearly inferring that you were in favor of allowing the mosque to be built.
So once again let us set the record straight. Town Heretic already gave his answer, and it was an answer in favor of allowing the mosque to be built.
Please do us a favor and do not correct the record once again.
You are providing evidence for everyone to see that you truly are a Sophist. Perhaps that is why you keep arguing with me whether I say that you are, or are not, in favor of building the Mosque. I am against it. No deception, everyone knows where I stand on this issue. You are either for it, or against it, I am still not sure, because you are too busy attacking me and nuancing the answer.
'I already stated it.....I bet you can't restate it{you are right there}......it's there for everyone to see..... I don't want to waste my time with you'....etc.
You really do want that sophist title don't you? Don't answer that question, but instead, cleverly give a nuanced answer while insulting me at the same time.
You are playing me, and everyone on this thread, you sophist, you!
I am finally on to you, took me a while though.
Again , please accept my apology! I misunderstood you once again. Now you are clearly inferring that you were in favor of allowing the mosque to be built.
As I said to someone else earlier, you can support the right of citizens to peacefully assemble without being in favor of what many of them will say when they do. If you can't understand that you'll never understand my position or the laws of our Republic.

Rather, you're setting it out pretty plainly that you're the sort who says what he feels or wants to, for whatever reason, and never mind those troubling facts.
