Foreign Policy - November 22nd, 2011, 09:16 PM

What are we doing right and what policies should be changed?

Bomb em all.

I hate to break it to the peeps, but your chances of being killed or wounded in a terrorist incident are so close to zero that they might as well be zero. Worry far more about slipping in the tub.

We need to get ourselves out of other countries. We need to stop being the policemen for the world. Why is it so hard to understand the advice that Washington gave us before he rode off into the proverbial sunset? I'm all for isolationism.

I'm thinking this would also go along way in solving the debt problem.

Definitely. While we are at it, we should get a few more countries to pay us back for re-building their countries after WWII.

Support them in what way exactly?

What I'd like to see:

Reduction in foreign aid spending, limit it to food supplies
Stop selling technology to foreign countries
Put tariffs back into effect
Ship out ambassadors in our country and bring ours back
De-fund much of our defense spending especially "contractors"
Instigate policy of neutrality for conflicts between other countries
Make immigration illegal period, at least for the time being. People can learn to clean their own house, mow their own lawns and cook their own Mexican food. Or pay an actual citizen a few more dollars an hour to do it.

So, you're an isolationist too.

Outlaw lawns.
There should be a percentage of your land that is allowed to be mowed lawn and the rest should be natural, trails permitted.
And a required percentage of edible garden.

The U.S. can not and should not disengage from world politics, the idea of being an Isolationists is not the way to go, being a Non-Interventionist is preferable. That said, no U.S. tax dollars sent overseas in the form of foreign aid, pull military troops -except first strike forces, from WWII counties. Secure the borders, that would be a good start.
