Obedience to God, Is there a command of God you endeavor to obey? - December 23rd, 2011, 08:06 PM

I believe we should all obey the command to love our neighbor as ourself.

Maybe that is an obvious one. But it comes to mind in trying to answer the question in the title to this thread.

Will you also endeavor to obey this command? Is there a particular command (in the Bible; of God) you believe you or everyone should obey?

Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJV) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Deuteronomy 10:13 (KJV) To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

I think you are saying I don't love my neighbor. And you are saying I don't share the gospel with my neighbor. From these conclusions you have concluded that I have lied in saying we should all endeavor to love our neighbor as ourself.

Great verses, thanks ghost.

Is there a particular command (in the Bible; of God)
you believe you or everyone should obey?

Eph 6:20 For which I am an ambassador

that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Lu 10:27 Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,

and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind;

and thy neighbour as thyself.

I read the Ten Commandments every morning and the two Great Commandments on love. I also read Paul's definition of charity I Cor. 13:4-8 a. Then I work to live by those throughout the day. If tempted I can refer to Scripture to fight it. With Scripture and the Holy Spirit I'm able to resist sin. Is the gospel a commandment? To live the Good News I would think would be a commandment for all Christians.

Every part we can. But especially the part you mentioned.

1 Samuel 15:22

1 John 4
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."

Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.

Me an' Bradley D are together.

Shema is the first and second command. Or the two in one, if you will. Shema is not technically the first you mentioned. But Christ said upon the two all the law and commandments hang.

Shema is fulfilled now through Christ. Shema in Christ is gospel.
