2011 TheologyOnline Posts of the Year Awards - December 29th, 2011, 01:57 PM

January 1st is the day of the biggest event of the year on TheologyOnline.com, yes, it's the 2011 Posts of the Year awards with your host, Knight (that's me). As you know every year (since 2002) I countdown the greatest posts made on TOL every year. You may ask yourself "how are these posts picked"? Well, the picking goes something like this.... I round-up all the Post of the Day picks that I have made each year and then a team of 300 experts in every field known to man rates each post on a points system based on hundreds of factors and variables, (each score is then multiplied by .23) after that process is complete the posts are placed on a spinning wheel and monkeys throw their own fecal matter against the wheel. Posts that accumulate the most fecal matter are awarded extra points. After that process is complete I personally review the results and then throw the results into an incinerator that burns at exactly 1650 degrees Fahrenheit. Finally I rate all the post of the year candidates based on my own opinion as to which posts are the best and place them in order from best to least best. I also may pick posts that weren't picked as Posts of the Day yet are still worthy of being awarded a Post of the Year. So just because you haven't had a Post of the Day doesn't mean you will not get a Post of the Year!

Throughout the day on January 1st 2011 (and in this thread) I will be slowly releasing the winners. I will also be placing every winning selection in this post so you can easily find all of this years winner.

The post authors of the year awards
One might think this would simply be a duplicate of the posts of the year except given to the poster that made the post and not the post itself. Oh no, it doesn't work that way. The poster of the year is weighted so that folks that have more Posts of the Year will get more points and therefore finish higher than folks that have only one post of the year award. For instance, the person who receives the best post of the year might only have that one post in the award show and therefore he would receive less points than a person who might have had two or three Posts of the Year. The Posters of the Year takes into account BOTH quality and quantity of posts.

The TOL Post Authors of the year awards are as follows....

Rank, Username, Score
#1 ghost 25.7
#2 Vegas Cowboy 18
#3 Rocketman 17.7

#4 Nori 17.3
#5 The Barbarian 16.3
#6 nicholsmom 16
#7 Frank Ernest 15.5
#8 CabinetMaker 14.8
#9 Lucky 9.3
#10 Turbo 9.3
#11 Architect 9.3
#12 The Graphite 9.2
#13 Chickenman 9.1
#14 Bob Enyart 9.1
#15 DFT Dave 9.1
#16 Poly 9.0, 7.5
#17 Town Heretic 9.0
#18 WizardofOz 9.0
#19 GuySmiley 8.9
#20 Some Other Dude 8.9
#21 NarrowWay 8.8
#22 MrRadish 8.8
#23 Tom From Mabank 8.4
#24 Ask Mr Religion 7.8
#25 Nang 7.8
#26 fool 7.2

I can't remember the details, but wasn't there a recent Knight's POTD that spawned a second POTD?
