I may be mistaken, but It's pretty apparent to me that more changes have to occur with you folks here. If you take any offense to what I'm about to write, I think your ego is too big.
We are not going to grow if we just keep doing this:
It is actually a very basic fundamental issue. You believe your view of God and your church and your reading of the holy texts and practice are superior. ok. We need to start over. Start completely over.
First of all I would like to accuse you all of being elitists. You take a pyramidal "top-down" view of everything with your dominant ever perceiving eye resting egotistically at the pinnacle. Below you people are like so many dots. You think to yourself, "I will be closer to God if I practice judging like a god." how are you so sure of yourself
2nd of all, toward eachother you act like Theological battleships. Your interpretations are ever so righteous as you smugly post them for all to see. You are each like quibbling prophets quarreling away in the lobby of the Hotel of God, and yes you might as well believe yourself to be a prophet. Rather than actually discuss a piece of scripture you would seem to go all Lord of the flies with it. and have a sense of humor already
3rd - many of you have no respect. Religion isn't something everyone just wears on their sleeve, man. Elements of it are supposed to be personal to the point where you might liken it to a piece of a person's heart. If you have any depth in you whatsoever you will realize that sometimes when you mess with someone else's religious views, you might be messing with more than just their religious views. You might be messing with their deceased grandmother's religious views. Or religious views that have helped them through a tough time in their life.
So lay off it man
EDIT: I've decided, eh, what the heck. Go ahead and judge eachother. At least I gave being non-judgmental a try, unlike many. And I still don't think it should be something that should be encouraged.

I posed this question to you on another thread, and I'll go ahead and re-post it here:
QUESTION: Which religious truth-claims---if any---are objectivelytrue, and how can we know?
(After all, mutually contradictory propositions cannot all be true.)
Gaudium de veritate,
Cruciform

"The very tradition, teaching, & faith of the Catholic Church from the beginning was preached by the Apostles & preserved by the Fathers. On this the Church was founded..." ~ St. Athanasius (4th cent.)

probably mostly the ones dealing with love, respect, morality. Things you can see. These things demand exercise and not debate. All the symbols of language and belief I imagine being of no contest compared to these. Because you cannot truly see them. Keep them if you wish. next question
spiritually speaking there isn't any definitive answer to that although i'm guessing that as a Christian you're going to tell me that YOUR religion is the only one who knows the truth, right?
Orthodoxy is just the Tyranny of the Majority, a Spiritual Despotism where accepted doctrine is Sacred, Untouchable self-evident truth no matter how absurd it may be.

I believe there is truth. I believe that the fact we exist proves that there is a God, and I believe that God is the One who created all things and is powerful enough to communicate to us that He did. So, yes.

ah, but I do not believe you know the truth either. Neither should you believe I have the truth.

You see if there is a truth, and it is simple, it is such that so many people get tangled in it like a giant ball of yarn. Perhaps it's best not to touch the truth with the ego.
Not really. I'd only have to know the God who has created all things and believe Him.
Then He is the one who knows, and you are not. How can we act, think, and have opinions exactly as God wishes, if we cannot access his mind, how is this to be done?
