The English equivalent for the Hebrew Torah is Law. This is not a good translation. It makes people like you misunderstand the point by not seeing the Law as a loving act. It is His teaching for us to live out. Messiah is our righteousness. He is. I agree. In that same righteousness, we are still called not to sin-going against His Torah is sin. There is no way to theologize around it.
