Another Obama Foible--Cattle Guards. - March 22nd, 2012, 09:57 PM

My husband shared this interesting little joke on his Facebook page. It was posted by a gentleman named Ron Williams. It graphically illustrates the idiocy of President and his staff we now have Washington.

Photo of a cattle guard.

For those of you who have never traveled to the west, or southwest,
cattle guards are horizontal steel rails placed at fence openings,
in dug-out places in the roads adjacent to highways (sometimes across highways), to prevent cattle from crossing over that area. For some reason the cattle will not step on the "guards," probably because they fear getting their feet caught between the rails.

A few months ago, President Obama received and was reading a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado . The Colorado ranchers had protested his proposed changes in grazing policies, so he ordered the Secretary of the Interior to fire half of the "cattle" guards immediately!
Before the Secretary of the Interior could respond and presumably try to straighten President Obama out on the matter, Vice-President Joe Biden, intervened with a request that...before any "cattle" guards were fired, they be given six months of retraining.

'Times are hard,' said Joe Biden, 'it's only fair to the cattle guards and their families be given six months of retraining! '

And these two guys are running our country,

Lets throw these bums out in November shall we? We don't want ignoramuses like this running our country. It's no wonder America is in a shambles. This is the same president that claimed he visited 57 states.

Cattle Guards and their families..That is just about and bone headed as he can get!

Doesn't anyone bother checking facts before they post this kind of crap?

Seriously.

It's made up, Inzl.

What idiocy does that "graphically illustrate?"

There you go confusing the issue with facts again.

What have I told you about doing that?

I love it. But, check out Snopes for it. The story's been around since the 1950s. It first came online during the Clinton administration.

No.

There are plenty of real reasons to be unhappy with Obama. Real issues that can be discussed. This kind of ridiculous made-up rumor is harmful.

So what's stopping you from making a thread or two about those issues?

Oh right. You're too busy criticizing other people's threads.

Wow, that's an old story. I first heard it used on Reagan.

Actually, I first heard it from an office manager of an insurance agency, talking about one of the loss control guys sending a report to a New York underwriter about a ranch in which he mentioned cattle guards. The underwriter supposedly asked if the guards were armed or not.

Funny, but probably not true.

God bless us, every one.
