Right!

Salvation that can be lost - in an ultimate sense, anyway - is no salvation at all.

Nope. The Bible is full of verses that support the concept of the permanence of salvation.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 6:37 - All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

John 10:28-29 - And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Romans 8:38-39 - For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they were of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out so that it might be revealed that they were not all of us.

1Co 1:8 He shall also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Heb 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost those who come unto God by Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them.

A brief overview of Arminian/Calvinist distinctions

Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, forever. Amen. -Ephesians 3:20 & 21

1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. But when I became an adult, I set aside childish ways. - Let's at least work at it?

"If a sheerly linguistic version of the gospel could be concocted, it would merely so be no longer the gospel. In the Lutheran Reformation’s understanding, which we believe in this matter to be correct, the sacraments make the inalienable externality of the gospel message and therefore are necessary to the authenticity of that message." I know, KMO... when I said, "with respect...", I really did mean it. You are a person I definitely can relate to.

Maybe it's more the individual responsibility in salvation that you are thinking of?

No.

Once saved, you're sealed until the day of redemption.

You don't understand the difference between being made free from sin and receiving everlasting life.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

toldailytopic: Can a saved person lose their salvation?

I believe that John 14:6 is the only way to redemption, and that Romans 10:8-13 is the solution, and one is saved, therefore, no, I do not believe a saved person can lose their salvation. I believe that we are hidden in Jesus, safe and secure, just as it was stated in post posts by...

Mary Contrary
in post #2
and
Tambora in post #8
and
Bright Raven in post #11
and
Inzl Kett in post #18

and others who believe the same of the believer's security.

I do not believe that Jesus would die to save us and then change His mind after we accept that wonderful, good and perfect gift.

.....O LORD my God, in You I put my trust. Psalm 7:1
.....To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
Psalm 25:1

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia
