I'm in awe of Patty Griffin. She is the most amazing singer/songwriter living, today. And she just keeps getting better.
I was fortunate to have run across her way back when she published her second album. I happened to catch her the very first time she was on TV. And even then, she was breathtaking. I've seen her live several times, and it's magical. The first time the sang "Up To The Mountain" in public was at the Chicago Theater. She sang it with no accompaniment, just her and a guitar. And I saw 800 impatient, half drunk Chicagoans hushed to near breathlessness. Man! That girl can sing!
