Guyver,
Pentecostal?
that is not a name I subscribe to.
Although the speaking in tongues in their meetings is genuine, God, by way of Paul in I Corinthians 14 shows how ungodly and foolish their antics are.
If there foolish antics are all a person knows about speaking in tongues, I really could blame those from shying away from speaking in tongues.
The Corinthian believers were genuinely speaking in tongues but they added many foolish antics.
Paul reproves them quite strongly.
One verse that reproves their error is
I Corinthians 14:23
"If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?"
However, for those who read I Corinthians 14 to educate themselves, and apply what is taught, they do not bring shame to themselves.
