Catholicism - The Worship of Religion -
April 21st, 2012, 08:21 AM
What the Catholic religion is to the Catholic, Jesus Christ is to the Christian.
The worship of the creature instead of the creator is nothing new, Romans 1:25.
The exaltation and worship of Mary is pure idol worship, 1 Thessalonians 1:9. The Bible does not exalt Mary. Jesus did not exalt his mother. The apostles did not exalt Mary. Mary did not exalt herself. She refered to herself as a sinner in need of a savior, Luke 1:47.
The Jews worshipped the Torah much like Catholics worship their religion. They said that the Torah was the way, the truth and the life. John took what the Jews said about the Torah and applied it to Jesus. They also said that the Torah was the light that lightens every man. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world." They said that the Torah was the bread of life. Jesus said, "I am the bread of life." They said that the Torah was a shepherd. Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd." Everything that the Jews said about the Torah Jesus applied it to himself.
If Jesus were to say something to the Catholics today what do you suppose he would say?

Luke 9:23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me."
"If a sheerly linguistic version of the gospel could be concocted, it would merely so be no longer the gospel. In the Lutheran Reformation’s understanding, which we believe in this matter to be correct, the sacraments make the inalienable externality of the gospel message and therefore are necessary to the authenticity of that message." (Christian Dogmatics [1984], II:302-303 as cited in Pontifications)

Yet another gigantic False Dilemma Fallacy for Pate. He just cannot get this right...

The exaltation and worship of Mary...
Given that Catholics in no way "worship" Mary or the Saints, and given the fact that Pate has been corrected on this point many times before, one can only conclude that he is now simply lying (Prov. 19:5).

He's done worse than that. I notice Pate has now tried to use God's word to deceive:
Quote:
Mary did not exalt herself. She refered to herself as a sinner in need of a savior, Luke 1:47.
She referred to herself as a sinner? (Barbarian checks)
Luke 1:46-48 And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord. [47] And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. [48] Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
Nothing at all about being a sinner. Only that God has exalted Mary. He did indeed save her, granting her freedom from sin. Which is why Christians call her "blessed."
You have committed a great sin, Pate. God's word is holy and you have tried to deceive us with it.

"Jesus-is-savior-.com" is going to be a link to a picture of the Pope...?
Oh boy, you're tricky Pate. Is that your site? I guess it's an improvement on your first one...well maybe.

Only sinners rejoice in God who is their savior. You are blind.
Mary was a sinner just like me. She was born after Adam and was a sinner, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23. Including Mary and all of the other apostles, Patriarchs and prophets.
I don't have to deceive you. You are already there.
