What, to your mind, is the obligation of love and how would you go about loving someone who you believe to be both in serious error and in danger of harming others in his/her zeal?

Define love as it relates to your enemy, how should that love be expressed?

1) Example: When you want to jump start a heart, you thump the victim, er rescuee hard. A thump is not always unloving (though can be embarrassing if the person is still breathing).
2) What the example explains: We must love the way we love. If you don't see it, it isn't a call to judge.
3) Another example: Some see a particular couple of posters on here as loving. The rest, see them as completely opposite of that. Love isn't always seen or understood. God looks at the heart (which is why I'm not an open theist - God knows, and I know He knows).

A brief overview of Arminian/Calvinist distinctions

Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, forever. Amen. -Ephesians 3:20 & 21

1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. But when I became an adult, I set aside childish ways. - Let's at least work at it?

I suppose you accept them the way they are and try to help them find truth. If they are a threat to someone you have to restrain them til they get help. But you try not to kill them in the process.

Scriptually you should Bless them and give them your coat.

How many could do that without God's spirit leading them?

Mark your calendar Lon, we agree. But sometimes it is hard to give unconditional love to someone who does not return it. Then we just have to accept what is given. It has been my experience that the more love you give, the more you get back. And if you do not expect to get any back you still get the feeling of doing the right thing.

See, I can appreciate what you're saying but that's not practical in dealing with those acting on a lethal intention. I'm thinking of the fellow in Virginia a few years ago who killed a number of people with guns. If I had been present and armed I'd have attempted to kill the man. Not because I desired his death, but because there really isn't any reasonable option at that point...I don't know if you've ever been under fire, but aiming to wound doesn't work. Your target is mobile and uncooperative. Your heart is hammering, your hands likely shaking from fear and/or adrenaline. So you aim for the torso, the surest target with the greatest likelihood of success and fire until your target goes down. If you try anything else you're as likely to miss and become a victim and/or allow for additional innocent people to be put in harms way.

It's similar between nations.

I just cannot believe getting infraction by pointing out bybee's misrepresenting (lie) of me.

It is just unbelievable.

Take a look at her personal harassment coming after me. She has been doing that to me and nothing else. You guys seem to be so blind nothing is wrong about it. It is nothing but hatred. What she is doing is stalking.

Get real, people. And you guys boast that you are true Christians and saved. Sheesh.

It is so immature but no one seems to notice.

We started out on a positive note. I gave you several pos reps. You took issue with that. I have not ever given you a neg rep. Since I cannot be friendly to you I have been avoiding you. I shall continue with that policy.

I you dont understand what Jesus says in His passage of "love your enemy", you dont know His love, and you dont know Him because that passage is self-explanatory, simple and clear. You just dont want to accept it.

That was deceptive gesture because you gave all kinds of comments against me. I gave you the benefit of the doubt for a long time and finally got the idea bout you.

I feel sorry for you, friend. I dont understand why you have to do this kind of stuff. You have been joining all kind of gang attacks and making subtle negative comments about the attackees. You have been always in the majority side in very subtle ways.

I have confidence in my assessments because I always give the benefit of the doubt to everyone.

Look what happened to Jedi who pretended to be my friend and back stubbed me with bombshell.

There's nothing "deceptive" about public comments, doofus. She engaged you, encouraged you when she could and appraised your responses publicly. That's what happens in forums.

Perhaps you should blog.

Your tactics forced Jedi to use a subtle form of creeping satire. When more directly confronted you had/have this tendency to not respond substantively and whack the ignore button in short order.
