Probably my final for 11th grade English was the worst for me. I made a 95 on it, and still failed for the year. I had to go to summer school. I always aced my tests. I just never did any homework.

That has to be discreet mathematics. The exam in that course was demonic, some really complicated set theory related problems. I remember that exam having a near 70% fail rate.

I once took a test that every student in the class (and in this teacher's other English class) failed. I was the only one to pass, and that was with a 70 (okay -- I didn't ace every test). The funny thing is, I didn't even read the book.

I loved English. I like diagramming sentences--still.

Atomic and Nuclear Physics. I really should have paid more attention to some of those formulas. They weren't difficult but they bored me.

Philosophy 101. At 18, I was too literal minded to get it.

On a similar note: I still have the "it's time to take the final exam for the class I never knew I signed up for" nightmare. Anyone else?

Well...I haven't actually taken it yet (English Lit), but I can already tell by the review she gave us that it's gonna be a hard final! :/

I absolutely hated my last required Math class because it used this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Crossing-River...sr=1-1-catcorr

It is Word Problem Hell. For me, at least.

I was barely scraping out an A by the end of the semester, and to my everlasting relief, it was a group test.

Sample problem:

Five family members and their five dogs (each family member owned one of the dogs) were hiking when they encountered a river to cross. They rented a boat that could hold three living things: people or dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs were temperamental. Each was comfortable only with its owner and could not be near another person, not even momentarily, unless its owner was present. Dogs could be with other dogs, however. The crossing would have been impossible except that Lisa's dog had attended a first-rate obedience school and knew how to operate the boat. No other dogs were that well educated. How was the crossing arranged, and how many trips did it take?

I'd say one of my worsts involved a 2 hour essay I wrote with hives covering my entire body. I did get an A though!

I believe that the Universe is one being, all its parts are different expressions of the same energy,
and they are all in communication with each other, therefore parts of one organic whole.
This whole is in all its parts so beautiful, and is felt by me to be so intensely in earnest, that I am compelled to love it and to think of it as divine
