yes, its a lovely notion to believe that whatever u do you will get to Heaven...

wife getting on your nerves? have an affair... no prob.. u will get to Heaven anyhow (so it goes)

dont want this baby... no prob... kill it... God u/stands and forgives... and its OSAS even if you dont repent... so the story goes...

But if YOU were the spouse cheated on... hmmm... kinda looks different then...

if you are the child no one wants... kinda looks different then...

You clearly don't understand grace.

Not only do I not lose my salvation when sin that dwells in my flesh works in my flesh, but I am set free from sin; I am dead to sin and alive in Christ. So that which is of the flesh, which is dead because of sin, has no bearing on, or control over, the spirit that is alive in Christ Jesus.




If to die isn't gain you're living in vain.

then i guess u would believe me when i say that since i have been saved,

cutting off my foot wont hurt

if we can be adversely affecfted by the physcial consequences of sin (in this case mutilating self by cutting off foot) then we are definitely affected by the consences of mutliating our soul...

the reason you people dont FEEL separated from Christ when u sin (assuming that is true, which i rather do not) is becasue you are not all that close to Him in the `1st place...

But once i got close to Him...

well, now i can CERTAINLY feel it when i am no longer close...

so... i guess i get where u r coming from.... you are not as close to Christ as you could be...

Old adams religous son's just don't get it! the straw man of you can just do what ever and get to heaven is getting old, everyone has a area that they struggle with from time to time, these are not to be feared but embraced as reminders of God's grace and it's never ending mercy while we are yoke to the flesh.
Arrogant sin is from the flesh and will be dealt with by the Spirit in sundry ways, but never at the loss of salvation.

Yes, of course Christ's death wasn't really as big a deal as we OSAS believers believe it to have been. Doesn't take much at all to snatch basically anyone from the hand of God, when you think about it. A murder here and purse snatching there, a cuss word spoken AT CHURCH on mid-July Sunday afternoon and the next thing you know, Christ's account is overdrawn and no longer sufficient to pay your sin debt.

I have Scripture to back up my claims. What do you have for your idiotic attempt at refutation?

I know my flesh is separated from God, and it will never be close to Him. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. He lives in me, and my spirit will never be separated from Him, for nothing can separate us from the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sounds like you don't believe Jesus Christ died for all sin.

Evidently, it not up to God to determine which sins were to be paid for.

Evidently, it is you, not God, that made that determination.

Either Jesus Christ died for all our sins or he only died for the ones you personally approved of.

You should think before you start a thread.

Only understanding God's unlimited and unconditional love and grace, how bounteously He has loved us and how freely He forgives will keep you from sinning. Fear will never do the job.

Comprehending the stake that others have in the kingdom of His dear Son will keep you from sinning against folk, fear of punishment will not do it.

Fear of punishment is for the law-breakers, the wicked.

And this my friend is why Catholicism frightens me... it makes a living off of making their members live in fear.
