without works you cannot get to Heaven... Doing what Jesus says is work - May 1st, 2012, 03:48 PM

It is work not to sin

It is work to say

I know that sleeping with __ is what i want, but i know its wrong, know that's not what Jesus wants... so i will pray instead... i will WORK to break off this thing...

It is work to love someone you prefer to hate...

It is work to do what Jesus wants instead of what YOU wnat...

if anyone says we do not have to do these things to get to Heaven

he is not only wrong... but not in touch w/ reality

What if Jesus told an apostle that works are no longer necessary? What if one can avoid fornication without having to work at it? What if it's not work to love those you hate [if Jesus is in you, you have His love, and it is not work]? What if we want what Jesus wants, because He gives us the desires of our heart?

Was this a response to me?

If so, I didn't put the old man to death, Christ did; on the cross.

if a manifestation of love is what makes a Christian

i would say there are maybe 2 or 3 Christians on these forums...

other than that, your post makes no real sense...

You clearly don't know what makes a Christian. Now we know for certain you are not one.

Romans 4:5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:

You obviously have no taste for the art of modern fantasy.

And as I recall, the Bible describes that which comes from Hell as appearing to be beautiful in order to deceive. So if something looks scary it is certainly not from Hell.

we are all called to take moments of REST

but if you REST and refuse to work...
EVER... meaning refuse to do waht Jesus says... which again is work

then you are in great sin

The saints say that sexual sins are what gets people to Hell more than any other

and second to that is lack of cfharity

it is WORK to be charitable to people... These forums attest to just how HARD a work it really is... some can't even seem to THINK of being charitable...so apprently ... it is GREAT work... more than breaking rocks, it would seem...

I still think we have some working out to do.

Not for our salvation. but our sanctification.

TruthSetsFree is in bondage to the law and religion.

The work of salvation has already been done by Jesus Christ.

We are complete in Christ, Colossians 2:10.

Catholics try to do in their flesh what God has already done in Jesus Christ. We have ALREADY been reconciled unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19.

We have ALREADY been justified by Christ, Romans 3:26.

Its over, Its finished, accept what God has done for you in Christ.
