Psuche in the NT is understood by different people in different ways, depending alot on there understanding of Biblical anthropology.
The word 'soul' is one of those words which has evolved and generally, it seems that people use it to refer to the immaterial part of man. This is the way that I use it but usually I combine it with spirit like this:
Man is composed of a body and a soul/spirit. With this expression, I am saying that man is dichotomous rather than trichotomous and though the soul/spirit may be divided by the 'Word of GOD'(Heb 4), it is beyond my capacity to do so.
Christ seems to indicated that body and soul are two distinct parts of man:
Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Yes, just as the apostles---St. Paul in particular---clearly taught, and as Christ's historic Church has continued to teach down to our own day.

Nice article in the link.
I particularly liked the way it provides for eternal life to those that are thrown into the lake of fire, as opposed to reserving eternal life for those that love God.
John 3:15
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
So, what does perish mean if those thrown into the lake of fire have eternal life, too?

"Life" here means "existence," and this existence is everlasting.

Was there a verse about everlasting punishment?
Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJV) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
Deuteronomy 10:13 (KJV) To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Is it true that we seek immortality, and not that we are immortal?

What about:
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJV) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Am I correct now that JWs do not believe in soul sleep, but in annihilation? Is this different?
Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJV) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
Deuteronomy 10:13 (KJV) To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
Those who are saved will have part in the first resurrection.
I don't know how to evaluate what you are saying about those who did not have a chance to know the gospel. I think you are talking about someone else's belief instead of your own.
I dont have my own belief about this. I dont have much knowledge about the prophesy.
You are talking about a lot of things and I don't know how to respond.
Hi and I know that the subject of soul sleep is not easy ,
#1 , One Resurrection of the Just and Unjust happens AFTER the Great Tribulation as many will Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven , which is the Millennium , Matt 8:11
#2 , Many believers , believe in an Interminiate state or Body , that is Parked somewhere , with the body in the grave . If you send a PM , maybe I can get this article into your hands .
I found this article by George Estill , " on the Intermediate State " in what is called , Journal of Pauline Dispensationalism Vol 19 , Number 76 , Issue Mar , 2008 .
You may google it and I can give tel # , and itis a fascinating article , up to you , as it addresses your OP , DAN P

I don't know if by prophecy you are referring to what I might be referring to in Revelation.
Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection.
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJV) And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

We seek immortality with God, yes (Rom. 2:7). We also are immortal.

I don't understand what you are speaking of.
Are you talking about Catholic beliefs of purgatory? Or are you speaking of something else or in a more general sense of something?
