None of Solomon's sexual excesses are biblical guidelines for Christian morality, marriages, familes, etc.

This, of course would be a return to the standards of the Old Testament but why not. It seems to have worked for many centuries so why wouldn't it work now?
Well, OIC has already addressed some of the more obvious flaws here and frankly your proposition is ludicrous. What if a man is caught cheating on his wife? Does the wife not have the right to divorce? What if a spouse is being abused? Do they have to remain in such a 'union'?

It's all well and good for you to be happy with what your father may decide for you (presuming you're not playing devils advocate here) but it certainly wouldn't be for many many other women. Compatibility doesn't come about through 'arranged' weddings and this whole thing is about as draconian as it gets if it's not 'tongue in cheek'....

Well this is fun isn't it?

Some people just haven't a clue about ancient times. David....the lineage of David was that of Jesus which runs through Solomon.

And Rehoboam, the legitimate son of Solomon, is in the lineage of Christ, as opposed to all the other offspring Solomon produced; legitimately and illegitimately.

So your point is? . . .

That is because you hold to mystical/ungodly beliefs that work in opposition to the pure truths of God's Holy Scriptures.

I do not need to "get over" our differences, but I do not intend to let your unbiblical views go unchallenged, either.

Sure AB. I always have comments. Some people believe in Biblical concepts and others reject them. Would you deny that women are property in ancient times? Please cite the references that support that position.

It's only been up until relatively 'recent' times where women weren't treat as equals, so whats your point?

Would you now care to address how it's at all fair or appropriate for divorce to occur if it's only the woman caught in adultery? Spousal abuse etc?

Women are not property.

Divorce is unfortunate when it happens, but necessary.
