one definition of insanity... OSAS, etc... -
May 15th, 2012, 01:57 PM
someone once said that insanity is either
drawing the wrong conclusion from the right premise
or drawing the correct conclusion from the wrong premise..
so many people here do both...
This OSAS thing is a prime example
just because (such and such) scripture says (this or that)
they make a whole belief system out of those psgs, summarily tossing out the rest... (throwing out Jn 6:27-54, Mt 16:18... etc)
I have read the entire Bible... some parts over and over... PLUS
i have had it read to me for years and years now while @ Holy Mass..
The ones who believe in OSAS ... are the ones who have not read the Bible... or if they read it, they dont u/stand half of what they read... or whatever...
Luther drew the wrong conclusion from the right premise
right premise: God loves us and is bigger than our sins
wrong conclusion: it doesn't matter if we sin
Jesus:
Go and sin no more
The one who loves me will keep my commandments (Jn 15)
Look, I don't why you would call following my Shepherd insanity.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.”
(John 10:27-30 ESV)
So do you think we can be removed from His hand? yes or no?

Is your problem that you think OSAS is a license to sin?
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.
but humans are not normally dumb enough to follow that so called logic out to its logical conclusion... by sinning up a storm...
therfore they dont really belive it anyhow...
Question;
Galatians 2:20
New King James Version (NKJV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Once saved, how do you become uncrucified?
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.
How in the world did you get that out of my statement?
I showed you the words of our Savior saying that we cannot be taken out of His hand (which seems pretty clear to me that I cannot lose my salvation) and you seem not to have an answer to the questions posed. Can you answer them without resorting to insult again?
Slogan/motto:

He apparently thinks Jesus is a liar. Sad to see him elevate his tradition over the very words of the savior he professes to trust in.
Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. If you deny that basic truth, you cannot be saved. God came to save you, you cannot be saved if you do not believe in Him as He is.

Hi , Bright Raven , and one reason that he will never answer , because they , the RCC , do not know Verb Tenses !!
In Gal 2:20 , CRUCIFIED/SUSTAUROO is in the Perfect tense , Passive Voice and Indicative Mood .
#1 , The Perfect tense is a combo of 2 tenses , The Past Tense and the Present Tense .
#2 , Which means , that the Point in time of your salvation the Holy Spirit put you into Christ death on the cross , and that is the Past tense .
#3 , Then we are ALWAYS in the Present Tense , and that means OSAS ,
#4 ,The Passive Voice , just means that it is the Holy Spirit work and we can NEVER put ourseleves into Christ , and no one can save anyone and that means no one !!
#5 , The Indicative Mood , just says it is a FACT .
The same in Eph 2:8 , The perfect tense is the Greek word SOZO , which also a Perfect Tense , passive and Particple , and means OSAS .
This is why Covenant theology , Acts 2 and the RCC will never advance and Mature and are like Paul says i 1 Cor 3:1-3 , AND WILL ALWAYS be BABES in Christ , dan p

Until you learn to let scripture be your guide, instead of your preconceived notions, you will miss out on what God had done for us in Christ.
God had Jesus Christ die for us, to cleanse us from ALL our sins, not just your favorites.

OSAS doesn't base their position on verses that regard a period of time before there was even salvation, i.e. before the death, burial and resurrection of Christ? Say it isn't so!

mixing up words and twisting things around does not make truth

Jesus' deaht did not change reality on Planet Earth
an individual's reality changes when he accepts and LIVES in Christ... but it is a daily journey doing this...
you cn't just say
I accept u Jesus...
then go about your business making $$... carrying on secular relationshiops and etc... no thought to Jesus...
and expect to STAY in him
humans are weak
they need to daily BE with Jesus... and do what he says...
if you love Me you will keep my commandments He said
