Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama's then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."
The booklet, which was distributed to "business colleagues" in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel.
It also promotes Obama's anticipated first book, Journeys in Black and White--which Obama abandoned, later publishing Dreams from My Father instead.
Obama’s biography in the booklet is as follows (image and text below):
Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. The son of an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, he attended Columbia University and worked as a financial journalist and editor for Business International Corporation. He served as project coordinator in Harlem for the New York Public Interest Research Group, and was Executive Director of the Developing Communities Project in Chicago’s South Side. His commitment to social and racial issues will be evident in his first book, Journeys in Black and White.
Obama has been known frequently to fictionalize aspects of his own life. During his 2008 campaign, for instance, Obama claimed that his dying mother had fought with insurance companies over coverage for her cancer treatments.
That turned out to be untrue, but Obama has repeated the story--which even the Washington Post called "misleading"--in a campaign video for the 2012 election.
The Acton & Dystel biography could also reflect how Obama was seen by his associates, or transitions in his own identity. He is said, for instance, to have cultivated an "international" identity until well into his adulthood, according to Maraniss.
Regardless of the reason for Obama's odd biography, the Acton & Dystel booklet raises new questions as part of ongoing efforts to understand Barack Obama--who, despite four years in office remains a mystery to many Americans, thanks to the mainstream media.
And Breibart was not a "birther". Of course as I have said here many times, it doesn't matter where he is born. He can't even pass the basic citizen sniffer, let alone a natural born one. He was born subject to Kenyan authority (possible dual citizen with the US), but Mrs B Hussein Obama (Dunham) turned in her and Barry's American parts when she divorced Barry sr, moved to Indonesia, and naturalized there.

You do understand the difference between "biography" and "autobiography", don't you?
He was only one of 90 authors written about in a booklet that was for distribution to publishing houses. When representing 90, mostly unknown, people, I'm sure that they really didn't have that close a relationship with most of them, and that they likely made other errors in their biographies.

It's true that Breitbart has done some deeply dishonest things. Remember when he made up that story about the woman who was supposedly racist? As in this case, he carefully edited the truth to make it misleading. I can see why you guys really like him.

Right here. As stated, even born in Hawaii, he naturalized to Indoesia, when his mother divorced Bammy Sr. and turned in her and Bammy jr's American dual citizenship.

Questioning his birth certificate has nothing to do with the color of his skin or his political background. It has everything to do with his dishonesty and lack of integrity. Obama is the worst president we have ever had and he is one of the most dishonest and immoral presidents ever to hold office. So, yes the birth certificate issue hits the spotlight again, because he was born in Kenya and not the US or he was born in the US and was trying to convince someone at one time that he was born in Kenya. Either way he is or was lying about it. Obama weaves tales to suit his needs and cares nothing for the truth.

The last time we had a President with a foreign born parent, Chester A. Arthur, the exact same sorts questions were raised about the location of his birth. There may be a touch of nativism behind the questioning on Obama, but I'm dubious that it's about race. Had McCain been elected, we'd still be hearing from Democrats that his birth in the Panama Canal meant he wasn't really eligible to be President.
