Exclusively Christian TheologyThis forum is exclusively for those who consider themselves Christian and consider the Bible to be the inspired word of God.
Yet, there remain two separate fleshs. Do they morph into one flesh? Has anyone seen a husband and wife that combined into one and only one body?
Since the expression, "one flesh" cannot be taken literally, it must be a figure of speech.
The emphasis being the oneness in purpose that is achievable for a God loving married couple.
How awesome, how incredible it must be to have a spouse that is one in purpose with you to love God completely and endeavor in all things to do His will and His will only.

Can God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit be called "one" in the same way?
Slogan/motto:
Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

It comes down to this ND--
Is the person of Jesus a man who began His consciousness at His birth, or was His consciousness alive with His Father in Heaven along with another consciousness of the Holy Spirit before the creation began.

Jesus was the heart/mind/consciousness of the One and ONLY God.
There is no other God, there is no other separate person with a separate consciousness. YET, when the logos was made flesh, a man after God's own image was born. Not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible. He is the firstfruits...and, the first to enter the Holy Place...for us.
He is and was God in the flesh. While in the flesh, He had given up His Godhood...for a time.
That is about how I view it.
He came as a Servant, to serve those who would believe in Him. He served while a flesh man, not as God. God could not serve as unto death, while being yet God. God cannot die, this is why God was made flesh.

No, there is a growing in knowledge after we are saved. We are told that here, for example:
2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Even when we fall for lies of men, AFTER we are saved, we are still sanctified, still justified, still SAVED.
