You are guaranteed if you follow the Holy Spirit in your life, do what he leads you to do and rejoice in his influence in your life.
That is what is meant by running the good race. If you follow the Holy Spirit's leading, I believe that for the most part, he will have you so busy doing God's work that you will have little time to waste sitting in a pew in a church and listening to a priest/pastor spew a monologue that is part modern psychology and part scripture.
I would rather go work in an inner city soup kitchen with other Christians on a Sunday morning than sit in a pew for selfish religious purposes... end of story.
After all, when Jesus was asked what pure religion was, he replied with the following..
James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Nothing about going to church there, nothing about taking communion..
Seriously, if you have been going to church for your entire life.. what really do you still have left to learn that will help you do what is required of you in the world?... for me, I have seen church as a reason for inaction.. people go to church and thy think that is all that is required of them. The worse Christians are those that go to church and place money in the offering plate and then think they have hired people to do what they themselves should be doing.
Have you ever thought of going on a short term missions trip? Ever thought of helping the needy of your neighborhood?.. do you have a neighbor that is a shut in?.. a neighbor that needs some assistance after surgery?.. a neighbor that needs help with housework or their yard?.. might need help with a new roof? Ever thought about helping with the youth group, organizing an outing. Do you have a trade?.. maybe some young kid in the church wants to learn it.. have you ever thought of taking them under your wing for nothing?
And so on.
We have too many people that just sit in pews, judge others because they do not meet the standards of what they see as commandment keeping, and spew filth all over those that are actually following the Holy Spirit.
These people remind me so much of the Jews during Jesus' lifetime.

If your saved and already on your way to Heaven, why do you need to be judged, or is that already omitted out of your false doctrine.
