Perhaps Knight chose Jefferson because he appreciates his views in "real life" and thought he'd be a good mod for the forum?
Well, maybe. I mean, anything's possible. All I'm doing is asking...believe it or not (and most of you will be in the "not" category) I wasn't trying to start a scene here. I do think it needs to be asked.
Theocrats are Social Darwinists.
Christianity has nothing applicable, appropriate, or worthwhile to offer the 21st century.
Slogan/motto:
"A day is as a thousand years" is about perspective. Two hours on the highway, to a five year old, seems like an eternity! To a 50 year old trucker, it's just the start of a good morning
I certainly remember a time when Jefferson was a lot more active then he is now. Perhaps Knight thinks that, if he leaves him in place as a Mod, that time may come again. Apparently he has done nothing to violate Knights trust, so why not?

You can put me in the not offended that you asked category, but I never would have thought it needed to be asked. If figure if Knight and Jeff are OK with the way it is, it will stay that way.

To be honest, I hadn't even noticed. If you asked me to name the mods right now I would only be able to name a few. My assumption has been that many of the mods know Knight in "real life" but I may have been wrong.
I believe that the Universe is one being, all its parts are different expressions of the same energy,
and they are all in communication with each other, therefore parts of one organic whole.
This whole is in all its parts so beautiful, and is felt by me to be so intensely in earnest, that I am compelled to love it and to think of it as divine

Hey man, fair enough. I knew sooner or later I'd get a straight answer of sorts from somebody.

...Jefferson has virtually never held an actual discussion on TOL. His penchant for next-to-worthless one liners in threads is consistent...
What do you offer?
"ACW, You're gay. You're an angry, vicious, self-loathing closet case. It's obvious to everyone here. The sooner you just admit who and what you are, the better off you'll be. It's apparent to most folks here that you're a truly miserable individual." ~ Granite link
Jefferson does a fine job and you complain a lot. Rev. 12:10
"Of sorts" being the key phrase, since Knight and I have never discussed the matter.
Well I'll say this: you, Poly, Nori, and Knight can all hold your own in an actual discussion. As much as you all disagree with me, you can at least articulate a complete thought (and, frankly, I enjoy conversing with you guys). Jefferson doesn't seem able, or willing, to even lift a finger. It does make me wonder why he's a mod when frankly he's just some guy on TOL. I mean, you banned me a week or two ago--actual moderating. Jeff doesn't seem to do anything around here except hit, run, and dodge.

Just speculating here but I think he's a mod so he can keep the BEL forum tidy.
I "Jeffersoned" once after my first time talking to Bob, I wanted to get the disscussion started about the show so I went to the kgov website and copied the show summery and pasted it here, then to my horror realized that the links didn't copy, they just showed up as text so I had to copy all the links one at a time and insert them.
It took me about 20 minutes, I'm sure Jefferson does it faster but then again some of the summeries are super link heavy so there's that.
So, it's like a little chore for someone, plus that person needs the ability to edit since links go stale sometimes, and they might as well be a mod since Jefferson is one of the few people who visit that forum daily (in case someone drops a bomb in there).
