Posters were held more accountable for what they post.
Especially the anti-Calvinist crowd, who, by and large have never personally read, let alone studied, the theological works of Calvin, and who also consistently reveal a great ignorance of church history while unabashedly and prolifically posting willy-nilly, inane and deceitful crap, and label it as being the supposedly wrong beliefs of faithful and devout Christian Protestant Reformers.
It is a violation of the 9th commandment of God.

Do you not believe beloved Nang that we will account one day? does God not even now deal with us over matters? I know He does me.
But my dear what of Paul was he not everywhere he went mis-represented? shall Calvin [who I think was not so high as Paul] fare better? What of Christ our Lord?
We must expect to be cannonaded, and we must believe that God's truth will prevail. I do honestly believe that truth is assailed so that it might prevail.

Apparently you don't believe "turn about is fair play" huh, Nang?
I read no apologies coming from you, ever, when you are proven to be "all wet", judgmental and arrogant.

And I wish the Calvinist crowd could remove the Calvinist colored glasses and learn to apply a little critical thought to their own theology.
I don't care how systematic your theology is, until you show me how biblical it is.
2 Tim 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

It was critical thought that led me to adopt the Reformed view.
When first becoming a Christian, and finding a new desire to worship and learn of God, but without any Christian advice or influence, I simply headed to the most convenient neighborhood church.
It happened to be a hyper-dispensationalist Plymouth Brethren church.
Our family remained there for seven years and we were fully indoctrinated in their Arminian and dispensational beliefs; however, as we continued our private study of our bibles, we found numerous contradictions between the Word of God and the teaching we were receiving. When we questioned the elders about various theological points and confusions within their system of thought, there were few answers forthcoming.
It was through our own studies that we came to believe in election and predestination, and not from any outside influence at all!
Only after hearing a radio sermon presented by an Orthodox Presbyterian Pastor, did we realize that the truths we were finding in Scripture was indeed legitimately Protestant and Christian, which led to our leaving the errors of Arminianism and Dispensationalism for the Reformed Faith.
We have studied the Doctrines of Grace now for 33 years and find no confusions or contradictions, for TULIP is consistent systematic theology that is inexhaustibly impressive.
So your advice proves to be a bit untimely . . . thank you very much.
Been there. Done that.

Of course you are correct, and I agree with you that thread titles should contain subject matter to keep forums tidy and efficient; however my vague expression has brought more responses than if I had just started another "anti-calvinist" thread . . . right?
I will do better next time.
