Politicians can be just as illogical

Case in point - in the 90's when the White House was working on Hillarycare, the Republicans were shaping an alternative plan which is much like Obamacare.

The GOP liked their alternative in the 90's and the early 2000's but as soon as Obama embraced a plan much like theirs then the Republicans hated it.

Now that's illogical.

The best response to the slippery slope argument is to say "I will reject the stupid proposals and I will accept the sensible ones - rather than I will reject all proposals because heaven forbid, slippery slope".
