2 Peter 1:20

Understanding this first, that no prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation

it is the Church that interprets Scripture.

Christ established a CHURCH ... St Mt 16:18

he never said to write anything

And if the Church happens to fall into fallible human hands with there fallible interpretation?

When they have free will and the power to vote and raise up and teach what men will, then yes.

Acts 17

10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
12 Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men.

and the Word they received was the OLD

Testament

the New did not exist then...

did not exist until 300-something when the CHURCH chose to put certain writings in the New T... leave others out

so according to your logic

we don't need the NT

Excuse me SIR, New Testament is anything after the death of Jesus Christ. No wonder your theology is so messed up!

Catholics believe that God can enable fallible men to teach infallibly, as he did in the composition of the infallible New Testament documents by the hands of the fallible apostles. Likewise with the formal doctrines (dogmas) of the historic Church right down to our own day.

i am not sure you should call the apostels fallible

they were falliible like all of us

but not when dealing with matters of utmost improtance like scripture...

and Peter was the first pope and so...

infallible in ex cathedra statements...

Yes, in the sense that all human interpretations of the Bible are to comport with the authoritative teachings of Christ's historic Catholic Church. The Church "interprets" the Scriptures within the overall context of her formal doctrinal teachings.

Regarding the issue of interpretive authority, see here.

Excuse me for the miss in gender. Are you actually telling me you believe there was a gap in Testaments of over 300 years where nothing was acceptable as New Testament teaching. And before you say the post is childish nonsense look at your own post.
