I know, it is the 4th of July.

Was it the wrong day to talk about these patriotic Americans?

People are going to be fleeing France soon, as that society tries to correct it's mistakes on the backs of the millionaires.

Same would happen in this country.

I understand your desire for people to be patriotic... but a 60+ tax rate is saddling them with too much of a burden.

But than on the other hand, I thing our vote should be proportional to the amount of money a person is willing to put in the public coffers... A billionaire's vote should carry way more weight than someone on the public dole that pays no taxes.

At the end of the day, all you want is someone to pay your way... theft if you will.

Healthcare

Previously supplied by my job for 24 years now supplied by my wife's job - we both work - our 4 adult children are out of the house and on their own and they all have their own healthcare.

Your next argument please.

Well good for you, but it still does nothing to counter my assertion that you want to steal from the rich and give to the poor.

So, people are entitled to the best government they can buy?

You are to be commended for your honesty; you would've been very happy if you had lived during the Gilded Age...

No, people that contribute more to society (instead of leach) should have a higher say in their government.

The original framers limited votes to land owners... imagine that.

If you receive benefit from the government you have an inherent conflict of interest when it comes to voting.

What about those who by-pass the system and simply buy the appropriate politicians/judges/law enforcers to get what they want?

Would you call them leaches?

That is a definition of "traitor" with which I am unfamiliar.

How is (to quote you) "our vote should be proportional to the amount of money a person is willing to put in the public coffers" any different from using one's fortune to purchase political power and influence?

One deals with working within the democratic process, the other deals with circumventing the process.

Purchasing influence would fall under the treachery to one's own government in the definition of treason.

How does it do this?

Being "willing to put [money] in the public coffers" sounds to me like volunteering to be taxed.

Are you an advocate for making payment of taxes solely voluntary?

I'm not cracking on you, I'm just trying to understand your position.

No, I am just saying that people who pay a ton of taxes have more skin in the game and should have a greater weight to their vote... people on welfare or other type of assistance should not get to vote because of their inherent conflict of interest (most will tend to just vote for more benefits instead of what is best for the country).
