Another day, another emergency averted. -

I pulled into the parking lot at my daughter's job, at 5:30 this morning, and my brakes went out. Luckily, I was pulling into a parking spot next to the curb. So, I didn't hit another car. Another good thing is that I know what the problem is because it has happened before (about five years ago). My brake lines are out. Since my mechanic didn't open until 8, I had to call my county sheriff (from two counties away) and ask them if Carl had a 24 hour towing service. They said yes and that they would tell him where I was. Only had to wait there for an hour after got off work. I was all right with that because of the time of day. If he charges me like he did before, the towing will be the most expensive part of this bill. I figure he'll charge me about $75 for towing and $50 for fixing my brakes.

And, probably not. I don't know the reason I was harder on you that time than I have been at any other time.

Well, I had to get a ride to my mechanic. But, I got my van back. The total bill was $104; $85 of that was for towing. Carl also suggested that I get a new car as soon as possible because the bottom is rusting away. I told him that I owe two more payments and then I will look at other cars.

Thanks, VC! I was kind of irritated when I stepped on the brake this morning and it went all the way to the floor without the van stopping. I must have hit a chunk of concrete (that I saw this morning), last night, on my way home from dropping off at work.

I know. God's trying to tell me to get my van paid off so I can get another car. I'm hoping that I can get $1000 trade-in at this place in town where works. They've got a big sign that says, "We will give you a minimum of $1000 trade-in value." I'm hoping that they're not lying.
