Bible Study for the Homeless Shut Down -
July 18th, 2012, 09:47 AM
[Reason New Jersey McDonald's Shutdown Bible Study Still Unclear by Alex Murashko Christian Post] "A New Jersey Bible study leader still wonders why her two-year-old ministry of teaching the Gospel to a small group of homeless and drug addicted people inside a McDonald's is no longer welcomed after confirming the shutdown with the restaurant's manager Tuesday.
Dawn Martinez, 33, was first told last Wednesday by a night manager at a McDonald's in Camden that the reason for her notice was because someone filed a complaint. Martinez told The Christian Post on Monday that when asked for a further explanation the manager said, "Well you are a Christian and there's other people of other faiths and so people are getting offended."
Sidebar: Feisal Abdul Rauf was on Dennis Prager's radio program yesterday. When Prager asked him who "we" must fight, his answer was anyone who says anything bad about Islam. Jn 14:6, Ro 1:16, Mt 10:33
I just read this myself - how sad, i wonder if the mcdonalds realizes by doing this because of the complaint of a muslim, they are giving that religion preference?
I wonder why some in america think that freedom of religion means freedom from religion?
"But if anyone, even an angel from heaven,
were to preach any other gospel than that of
Jesus the Christ, crucified, buried, and
raised from the dead by God the Father,
to deliver us from this present evil world,
let that false preacher be accursed.' (Gal 1:1-4,8-9)
There is not one local church in that area that would accommodate them for a bible study?
Crown Him, ye martyrs of your God, who from His altar call;
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all!
Let every tribe and every tongue before Him prostrate fall;
The God incarnate, Man divine, and crown Him Lord of all!
"Apart from me you can do nothing."~Jesus
Phil. 3:8 (ESV)

What a shame. They threw away a great opportunity to win souls, because someone in their group felt a need to criticize Muslims. Why is it so surprising that McDonald's doesn't want to offend customers like that?
There's a lesson to be learned there, but I doubt of the people who need it will accept it.
Funny barbie that the article says the muslims were offended by the praying, and the manager said they were just asked to stop since they were christians and that offends some people.

It could have been the praying, but I've been there two years and I've never changed anything. I really don't know any other reason."

Yes.
The lesson is, will you be loyal to the actual teachings of Jesus, (Jn. 6:44)
or will you cave in to being controlled by other people's opinions? (Jn. 5:44)
Will you actually follow the commands of Christ, (Luke 9:25)
or continue to use the name of Christ in hypocrisy? (Matt. 7:21)
Will you really 'win souls' by compromising the Gospel, (Matt. 23:15)
or will you effectively save those who can be, by confronting them with Gospel truth? (Jn. 6:63)

Well, let's take a look...
Martinez said she felt the complaint was prompted by someone from "the Islamic faith" listening in on their brief discussion about the Muslim religion
So no, you got that wrong. Do you suppose if Jesus was in that McDonald's, He'd be telling people the Good News or do you think He'd be talking about Muslims?
The answer isn't in hating Muslims, it's in being a better Christian. If these folks focused on the Gospel instead of talking about the religion of their host's customers, they'd still have that ministry.
I just read this myself - how sad, i wonder if the mcdonalds realizes by doing this because of the complaint of a muslim, they are giving that religion preference?

First, Wide Load™ came for the French fries (Rev. 13:11–17) and I did not speak out because I do not eat French fries... Jn 15:20

From this: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The founders made sure that both freedom from religion and freedom of religion were in the Constitution. That's why they put both clauses in.
But it's a moot point here. The fact is, McDonald's was perfectly willing to allow a faith-based charity to operate in their store, until those people began offending customers by making comments about the customers' religion.
Why is that surprising? No business would want that. And they aren't in the least required to permit it on their premises. It's not "censorship" when people don't agree to let you use their resources to spread your ideas.

Quote:
He already has said
Nope. Islam didn't exist when He was doing His ministry on Earth. But notice that He spent almost all of his time talking about how to love God and other people and no time talking about how evil Samaritans were. In fact, he told people it was better to be a compassionate Samaritan than an uncompassionate Levite.

Jn 14:6).
Nothing about Muslims. Do you also hate Jews for not recognizing that Jesus is Lord? This illustrates the point. If these people loved God more than they hated Muslims, they'd still have that ministry.

If there's a Chick-fil-A around, I'm sure they would take them. Maybe even Wendy's.
Chick-fil-A is openly Christian in their policies, but even there, I doubt if they are going to give anyone a platform to offend their customers. I'd suggest that the people in the ministry clean up their act and focus on Christianity, not Islam.
