About TOL Birthday Greetings for the record... - July 24th, 2012, 05:17 AM

Number two in the poll should have read: No, I do not like birthday a greeting.

Several of those who have gotten a happy birthday greeting I don't know, but they are active. Check the birthday calendar and that will show the TOL members last activity date and last post date.

ARE YOU A PARTY ANIMAL OR WHAT ?
Party animal? No. Listen a party to me is cake and ice cream with our precious sweeties at the nursing home. Or a birthday party with one of grand kids.

Probably or what. I believe TOL forum member's birthdays should be recognized and celebrated. It's like a hi how are have a blessed and great birthday. So that's what I do, and with cordial help of Tambora ... Tambora To whom I'm thankful for as sometimes I miss one or totally forget what I'm doing.

Birthday greeting guidelines...

TOL forum members must be active and posting within the last 30 days, otherwise there would birthday greetings for registered TOL forum members who have never posted that would get a birthday greeting and that would overload the TOL forum ...and The Rest.

There are some TOL forum members who have not active, they have a lot posts and maybe popular or TOL favorites, those birthday greetings come in the form of a MIA birthday greeting.

It also gives other TOL forum members the opportunity to post a happy birthday greeting, it kind of like a hello, well sort of.

If a TOL forum member does not want a birthday greeting, all that has to be done is pm me, or leave a message in my profile reply box, I'll comply with their request and they'll not get a happy birthday greeting; some TOL forum members have asked that they would not get a TOL happy birthday greeting for one reason or another or for no reason at all, believe me their request is honored. Of course the best thing to do is where it it asks about a persons age/birthday is to click and save hide the age and or birth date selection on the birth date question in their profile page.

That should clear up any questions about my happy birthday greeting business.

One of my personal tasks is to be a goodwill ambassador to and for TOL, to bring encouragement, help, hope and comfort to the TOL forum membership, like the Praise the Lord II thread. So that's what I can do, what I like to do, and what I will continue to do. I do know there are several others here on TOL that do the same thing encouraging with help, hope and comfort and my doing it is no way to make their efforts any less.

.....O LORD my God, in You I put my trust. Psalm 7:1
.....To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
Psalm 25:1

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia

I like them, Psalmist. I think you are doing a great service to those here at TOL. Thank you very much for it.

I like them, Psalmist. Just because OMEGA says something doesn't mean we should listen. After all, he's beginning to sound an awful lot like Harold Camping with all his predictions (that continuously change dates) for the end of the world.

Yeah there great' tbh I look forward to the message every year. No joke.

Does that make me a narcissist?

Edit: That came out more flippant sounding than I meant it, I do generally enjoy them and think its a great ToL tradition.

For those that do not want a birthday wish, you can go to your user CP and turn the option off that makes your birth date public.
