What if the whole world believed in Christ? -
September 19th, 2012, 09:54 AM
Imagine that through some miracle, everybody on Earth becomes a Christian. All Christians in name only become true Christians. All Muslims believe in Christ as the Son of God. All Jews receive the Lord Jesus Christ as they're Messiah. All men of other religions convert to become Christians, Indians, Chinese, everybody. All atheists become theists and believe in Christ.
First, what does it mean to become a Christian? I'm thinking of some verses:
Mark 16:16 KJV
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
John 1:12 KJV
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 20:22 KJV
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 11:17 KJV
Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
Romans 10:9 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:13 KJV
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
And second --now what? What happens? How do we do things differently? Does our conduct change somehow? How? Any other thoughts?

I think that would be boring. Now...if we could all just get along, that would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe that the Universe is one being, all its parts are different expressions of the same energy,
and they are all in communication with each other, therefore parts of one organic whole.
This whole is in all its parts so beautiful, and is felt by me to be so intensely in earnest, that I am compelled to love it and to think of it as divine

A fallen world filled with nothing but Christians, would still be a fallen world.
"How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?" Gal. 3:3
The psycology of the desire for the so called American Dream will block this for all time. For to win others must lose. Be the best is to place others below. The "best" leaders need followers to feed thier pride and ego. This id forbids true equality for all and feeds the pride. Sinners need saviors and saviors need sinners to feed upon. Sorry but the fallen will always be due to what category you fall into being relative to the individual observing you and noone else.
Just “believing” as in “knowledge” of Christ as the son of God, would probably be a very bad thing.
We need to believe (trust) in a benevolent Creator, since that helps us in fulfilling our earthly objective. We need faith to help us to humbly accept charity. Faith (trust) in a benevolent Creator is something any mature adult can do (you cannot take pride in that) so it works against self reliance (pride). Faith in a benevolent Creator is thus a humbling act and that humility is enough to accept God’s pure charity in the form of accepting God’s forgiveness.

So you see the American Dream standing in the way of the whole world coming to Christ then?

Do you think the Apostle Paul or the Lord Jesus Christ were leaders?

So bling assuming that this occurs within every man on Earth, would this constitute the whole world coming to Christ? And if so, then what would the world look like? Would it be different than it is today? How?
32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”
He was lifted up on Mt Moriah courtesy of Pilate being used as a puppet, and has drawn all unto himself.
Romans 1
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
Bold is my emphasis. Some people like Dena and granite just choose to shake their fist at him. They would rather go to hell.
Daniel,
1. Goals of success hang heavy with desire and pride in some and I feel it will always be. Not a bad thing but see any school sporting event bleachers. Not a bad thing just an observable fact.
2. Current man, not those of old. I failed to phrase this in present time but felt that was the nature of the question.
3. You and I are categorized by individuals more so than by any collective group, therefore I am seen as golden by one persons standard and a horrible person by another. So the idea that we collectivly can all agree that anyone is a Christians will remain out of reach due to opinion in what this means.
I hope I explained my thoughts better and thanks for the question.

Well said, and a very important point.
I have liberty to be seen as a failure by you while being seen as a son by my Father.
