Romney wins first debate...initially -

I must be nuts, it's after 4.00 am in England and I just watched the debate. Yes I think Romney won. But as time goes by I think people will say he is hiding his true intentions. Obama was honest. Romney was trying to kidglove the undecided. Trying to win the middle ground.
Obama's weakness is not his fault in a sense because the Dems are too plain scared to say it but if you want good public services you gotta raise taxes. Europeans have had that debate and are persuaded.

Romney basically flip flopped for half the "debate" claiming his tax plan won't do what it plainly does, claiming he likes regulations. Claiming he will use the principles from his state in replacing Obamacare. Romney the moderate showed up, not the severe conservative he's been running as for weeks.
Basically it was all smoke and mirrors and unfortunately Obama didn't call him on it very much.
Alas I think the moderator didn't moderate much so not much domestic policy was actually covered. Was most the the same stuff rehashed over and over.
I imagine the next time they meet, Obama will be more on the offensive.

I hate to break it to the peeps, but your chances of being killed or wounded in a terrorist incident are so close to zero that they might as well be zero. Worry far more about slipping in the tub.
Bammy looked so weak in that debate, weak and submissive - Romney didnt win "initially" he creamed obama the whole time
Obama cannot run on the poor record he has clearly, and without a telepromter with a canned speech or answers written for him by someone else he is obviously lost. Romney did not allow Obama to define him and did a fine job of defining himself. I have heard rumblings that Romney was not specific enough...I am not sure how granulated or specific either candidate can be in this setting but, I found him to be concise, to the point, and confident in his past records as businessman, Govenor, etc., the same could not be said for BHO. Obama looked distant, aloof, rattled, unengaged, shall I go on? He really showed himself as an empty suit when he was called on something he obviously does not understand...the economy, how jobs are created, how the government generates revenue and from where. Obama cannot perform in a candid setting without being coddled by his supporters and the media it seems...he was all alone up there and it showed.

I have a really difficult time even considering voting for a multimillionaire who believes that Joseph Smith received a divine translation of tablets in the early 1820's. A buried book of golden plates inscribed with a Judeo-Christian history of ancient American civilizations. In 1830, he published what he said was an English translation of these plates as the Book of Mormon

What does it plainly do Alate? Create jobs which create revenue, or that those evil job creators will be able to keep more fruit of their labor to reinvest into the economy...Your guy owns this poor economy and has bungled it from day one.

Unlike your man Obama, Romney has a proven track record of success in government as well as business. What was there to call him on...His success'. face it Obama had no substantive ammunition to fire that he would not be called on and Romney did a fine job of smacking him down the times Obama did try to float a fallacy.

You mean he did not protect the precious one from being literally flattened on this issue or that. It's a debate not a worship session, people want to see spirited debate not mutual admiration for any one candidate. The moderator did a good job letting it play out.

I don't see how much more offensive he could be (pun intended). The man has absolutely no record to run on, unless you want him to tout his failure.
