Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Ephesians 2:9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. [NASB]
Actually I cannot wait to see this state go bust but, of course they are too big to fail and will get bailed out by the rest of America for their failed socialist philosophies. So, interestingly all Americans will end up paying for the mess Crazyfornians have made for themselves, get ready to bail out Crazyfornia. It will happen...how long is the question.

With the passing of the Prop 30 tax increases in the recent election, states such as Arizona, Nevada , and Colorado are wooing California business' to come their way. Raise taxes...lose revenue, lose jobs, lose taxpayers from the roles, and so on, and so on...California makes all the wrong decisions.

I will move when I retire that is for sure, they are just not launching rockets from Indiana yet or I would be there now.
Steve and I talked about where we would go when he retired as a corrections officer. We never once thought of Indiana. I came here to visit a friend after Steve passed away. I loved it here. At that time, our sales tax was 5% and gas was $.99 a gallon or less. In CA, at that time, sales tax was about 7% and gas was $1.75 a gallon.

Try sales tax of 8.75% and income tax, and gas prices around $4.50, the list of atrocities against the citizenry in CA go on and on....

Although I was a Navy brat and moved a lot as a kid, I lived in California for most of my life (mostly in central and southern CA). The first time I can remember thinking that I didn't belong in CA was when I was in the fourth grade. We lived in San Diego. We went to a decent public school (Balboa Elementary) that had advanced classes (which all three of us girls needed because we were bored if the work was too easy). But, for some odd reason, I felt out of place.
Even after Steve and I got married, I talked about how I didn't feel like I belonged in California. That's why we were talking about where we would move when he retired. We were thinking about either North Dakota or Wyoming.

I believe that the Universe is one being, all its parts are different expressions of the same energy,
and they are all in communication with each other, therefore parts of one organic whole.
This whole is in all its parts so beautiful, and is felt by me to be so intensely in earnest, that I am compelled to love it and to think of it as divine

I love this state. It's home. The nation has benefited greatly from the innovative ideas, inventions and technological advancements which have had their genesis here, and the goods and agricultural products produced here. And other good things which would come to my mind if I was finished with my coffee.
From your link:
The official unemployment rate has been sitting above 12 percent for an extended period of time, and poverty is everywhere. For many Californians today, there are very few reasons to stay in the state but a whole lot of reasons to leave: falling housing prices, rising crime, budget cuts, rampant illegal immigration, horrific traffic, some of the most brutal tax rates in the nation, increasing gang violence and the ever present threat of wildfires, mudslides and natural disasters.
Those problems are present in every state in the nation - but yes, certainly in California, so okay, I'm listening... but when the list of negatives moved to acts of nature he lost me. Do you find it at all odd to see those there? It's like he ran out of ideas and threw those in for dramatic flourish. Is there a state that doesn't have natural disasters?

I agree that this part was not well thought out, natural disaters are everywhere and has nothing to do with the downhill spiral California is in. I call California home until retirement than I will take my marbles and move on, I have no intention of supporting California's welfare state beyond my own retirement. In fact if the oppourtunity to leave sooner comes I will scatter my belongings all over the highway to get out, I find nothing redeeming in California but, the weather.

I have six friends who have lived in California and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Three are very Conservative and three are Moderates. I visited in October and I admit, I thought it was fantastic. And best tomatoes I've ever had in my life.
