» The 2009 TOL Posts of the Year Awards |

The biggest event of the year!

January 1st is the day of the biggest event of the year on TheologyOnline.com, yes, it's the 2009 Posts of the Year awards with your host, Knight (that's me). As you know every year (since 2002) I countdown the greatest posts made on TOL every year. You may ask yourself "how are these posts picked"? Well, the picking goes something like this.... I round-up all the Post of the Day picks that I have made each year and then I order them by the ones I think are the very best and so on. I also may pick posts that weren't picked as Posts of the Day yet are still worthy of being awarded a Post of the Year. So just because you haven't had a Post of the Day doesn't mean you will not get a Post of the Year!
Throughout the day on January 1st 2010 (and in this thread) I will be slowly releasing the winners. I will also be placing every winning selection in this post so you can easily find all of this years winner.
Before we get started you may want to take a trip down memory lane..... ... [Read More]

» Christian Group Questions Palin's Pro-life Credentials |
|
Nov 17, 2009 - 5:36 PM - by Knight
|

Denver, Colorado, Nov. 16 -- A political 527 group, which claims responsibility for derailing Mitt Romney's presidential hopes in 2008 in the early-contest states of Iowa and South Carolina, is now targeting Sarah Palin. But for what?
ProlifeProfiles.com, created by a nationwide research team working for American Right To Life, is being launched today highlighting Sarah Palin's surprisingly extensive and unflattering record on abortion.
As Palin's "Going Rogue" is being published, Darrell Birkey, research director for American RTL Action, said that if rogue, "still means misleading and unreliable, then we should add Palin's entire book to her dossier at ProlifeProfiles.com."
In 2007 the nation's oldest "RTL" group, Colorado Right To Life, then a state affiliate of National RTL, issued a press release: "Rift Opens in Christian Right." Two and a half years later, that rift has become a chasm. Thirty-three states have... [Read More]

» Personhood movement explodes in 32 states |

World Net Daily ran the following front page story today. It's great seeing the Personhood movement take off like this. The folks behind this movement have really worked their tails off and it's paying off big-time!
Here's the story...
Pro-lifers: Wildfire effort could be death blow to abortion in Obamacare
A pro-life movement seeking to guarantee basic human rights to unborn babies is exploding in 32 states and leaders say it could be just the key to nullifying abortion provisions in President Obama's health-care "reform."
While abortion was not specifically mentioned in earlier bills under consideration, H.R.3962, unveiled by Nancy Pelosi this week, does in fact state abortion is to be covered. Concerns are mounting that whatever the final form of the legislation, the procedure will become more accessible, requiring health insurance companies to fund abortions.
Gualberto Garcia Jones is director of Personhood Colorado and a legal analyst for Personhood USA, a... [Read More]

» Scientific proof: TheologyOnline will make you smarter |

A recent study at UCLA showed that people who use the internet can actually enhance the function of their brain, it turns out that searching the internet is a type of "brain exercise".
UCLA study results.
"The results suggest that searching online may be a simple form of brain exercise that might be employed to enhance cognition in older adults," Teena D. Moody, the study's first author and UCLA researcher, said in a statement.
Results are even more impressive on test subjects that have little to no internet experience. The results suggest Internet training can stimulate neural activation patterns and could potentially enhance brain function and cognition in older adults. As the brain ages, a number of structural and functional changes occur, including atrophy, or decay, reductions in cell activity and increases in complex things like deposits of amyloid plaques and tau tangles, which can impact cognitive function.
Research has shown that mental stimulation similar to the... [Read More]

» The ACORN Story in a Nutshell |
|
Sep 16, 2009 - 11:46 AM - by Knight
|

I know there have been a few threads already on this ACORN story but this thing just keeps getting better. ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, is the nation's largest community organization of low and moderate income, at least that's the cover they use to describe themselves.
And if you don't know the story it goes like this...
Two young adults Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe started releasing undercover videos of themselves posing as a pimp and a prostitute and entering various ACORN facilities around the country asking the ACORN staff for help setting up underage prostitution businesses.
The results have been nothing short of astonishing. ACORN employees are more than willing to help pimps abuse and exploit girls as young as 13 and even have instructed them on how to hide the money from the government, one ACORN staffer suggests burying the loot in a "tin" in his backyard. After watching these videos... [Read More]
