Why Protestant churches dont keep the Sabbath.

Where does Jesus say "go to church on sunday" or "force other people to work for you on Sunday". BTW, according to your own beliefs you have just condemned yourself to hell for breaking the Sabbath.
Then why do you bother, it should be a no issue to you.

Now if the people had seen the scriptures, it would have quickly shown they had turned away into false beliefs so its truths had to be concealed and suppressed. But for hundreds of years the circulation of the Bible was prohibited. The people were forbidden to read it or to have it in their houses, as false traditions and men interpreted its teachings. Thus the bishop of Rome came to be almost universally acknowledged as the vicegerent of God on earth, endowed with authority over church and state.

To hide what they had done, they presumed to expunge from the law of God the second commandment in their writings, forbidding image worship, and to divide the tenth commandment, in order to preserve the number.
Then they went after the fourth commandment also, and slowly set aside the Sabbath, and put in the festival day observed by the heathen as "the venerable day of the sun." With great subtlety they worked to bring about this change. That the attention of the people might be called to the Sunday, it was made a festival in honor of the resurrection of Christ. Religious services were held upon it; yet it was regarded as a day of recreation, the Sabbath being still sacredly observed.

In the early part of the fourth century the emperor Constantine as part his merging of paganism with the church had issued a decree making Sunday a public festival throughout the Roman Empire. The day of the sun was reverenced by his pagan subjects and was honored by Christians; it was the emperor's policy to unite the conflicting interests of heathenism and Christianity. He was urged to do this by the bishops of the church, who perceived that if the same day was observed by both Christians and heathen, it would promote the nominal acceptance of Christianity by pagans and thus advance the power and glory of the church.

But while many God-fearing Christians were gradually led to regard Sunday as possessing a degree of sacredness, they still held the true Sabbath as the holy of the Lord and observed it in obedience to the fourth commandment. But with so many former adherents to worship of the sun, it was gradually substituted with a day which they were already inclined. Thus the pagan festival came finally to be honored as a divine institution, while the Bible Sabbath was pronounced a relic of Judaism, and its observers were declared to be heretics.

Persecution once again was opened upon the true Christians but this time by the bishop of Rome or Pontiff himself instead of the Roman Emperor, and the world became a vast battlefield as true believers were killed for hundreds of years. The accession of the Papacy and the Roman Church to power marked the beginning of the Dark Ages. Faith was transferred from Christ, the true foundation, to man or the papal power.

The people were taught not only to look to the pontiff as their mediator, but to trust to works of their own to atone for sin. Long pilgrimages, acts of penance, the worship of relics, the erection of churches, shrines, and altars, the payment of large sums to the church were the price to secure His favor; as if God were like men, to be pacified by gifts or acts of penance!

Thus the minds of the people were turned away from God to fallible, corruptible men who claimed to lead the church, and the bishop of Rome who came to regard himself as supreme, with the elevation of false laws and corrupt traditions that always results from setting aside the law of God. The introduction of Sunday as a substitute for the Sabbath came in slowly but with no scriptural support, just 'tradition' of men.

Well lets check scripture...

Ezekiel 20:12 "Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them."

Isaiah 58:13, 14 "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."

Matthew 12:8 "For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day."

Matthew 24:20 "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day." (This was talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. Jesus intended that his followers were still to be keeping the Sabbath.)

John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Revelation 22:14 "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."

All of the above texts clearly show that we must keep God Commandments, all ten of them

All of those scriptures are about ISRAEL and not the body of Christ.
Exo 31:12-18 KJV And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, (13) Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. (14) Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. (15) Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. (16) Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. (17) It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. (18) And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

People who know that, in Christ by His cross, they are dead to Law...that love in Christ fulfills anything Law ever demanded...that Law was really only the instructor, powerless to do anything about sin except point to the only Savior from it...that Law was made only for the unrighteous anyway...that Christ is the end of Law for the saved...these are the only ones who know they have no further need for Law.

The self-righteous, effort-loving, religious lost on the other hand...

Christ made clear that the Sabbath was from Creation and it wasnt a problem of keeping it that was the question, but how strict as the Pharisees has made it a burden not a joy.
How is this related?

From your own post you know that the change, if it can be called a change, occurred before the disciples of the apostles had died.
the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday.
I think where you get confused is when you believe the RCC when they presume that the RCC is the same as the catholic (universal) church.

The RCC has tried to steal Israel's place. That is their fundamental problem. They tell TONS of lies to try to make this fairy tale come true. Like these false claims:
  • Peter was above the other eleven apostles in rank
  • Peter had authority over Paul
  • The apostleship of Peter has been has handed down
There was only ONE apostle that was "replaced" and that was the one that was a devil.
Joh 6:70-71 KJV Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? (71) He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
Notice that when the Bible mentions the murder of the apostle James in Acts 12, there is no mention of a replacement. There is a reason for that. Here it is:
Mat 19:28 KJV And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Luk 22:28-30 KJV Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. (29) And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; (30) That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
These SPECIFIC men will sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

This is all good info. That's not to say that the Sixth day rest pattern wasn't offered to the rest of the world, since that pattern was established with Adam--but we have no record of it. So all we can say is that the covenant associated with the Sabbath made with Israel is the only one we know of.

After that, @Hobie would have to show that 1) the church is the continuation of Israel, which is a cheesy way for God to fulfill His promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; 2) that Sunday is considered the replacement day of rest by protestants (most do, some don't); and 3) that there is no warrant/authority for even the apostles to switch the day of rest to Sunday, since he seems to agree it happened that early.

11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

Question: "What does it mean that the church has been grafted in Israel’s place?"

Answer:
In Romans 11:11–24 Paul compares Israel to the natural branches of a cultivated olive tree and the Gentile believers to the branches of a wild olive tree. The natural branches (Israel) were broken off, and the wild branches (Gentiles) were grafted in (verse 17). The Gentiles, then, have been made partakers of the promises and inherit the blessings of God’s salvation.

We must read the scriptures and cleanse ourselves from any of the paganism and false worship especially the day of the sun as the Sabbath, pagan festivals or "Holy Days" that have been spread into many churches beliefs. The Protestant churches that split from and began the Reformation because they saw the truth and fought so hard against the Papal Roman church are now falling back one by one to unifying with it as the ecumenical movement is bringing force to bear, to beliefs in secularism and false doctrines of "Tradition" and paganism. Slowly but surely they are giving up the true beliefs that were their foundation until they become nothing more but secular social clubs with pagan traditions and festivals. The Churches of the Reformation must awake as the reformation had based its separation from Rome on the Word of God, and had placed the gospel of Jesus Christ at the disposal of the common man. The striving of the reformers was to make the Word of God available to everyone seeking knowledge of the plan of salvation. They must go back to the word and strive to restore truths that have been lost through centuries of false doctrines and "traditions", especially the Sabbath.

There are even more statements on the Sabbath, the Catholic Church is very clear on this:

"The retention of the old pagan name of Dies Solis, for Sunday is, in a great measure, owing to the union of pagan and Christian sentiment with which the first day of the week was recommended by Constantine to his subjects - pagan and Christian alike - as the 'venerable' day of the sun."" Arthur P. Stanley, History of the Eastern Church, p. 184

"When St. Paul repudiated the works of the law, he was not thinking of the Ten Commandments, which are as unchangeable as God Himself is, which God could not change and still remain the infinitely holy God."-Our Sunday Visitor, Oct. 7, I951.

"Question: How prove you that the Church hath power to command feasts and holydays?
Answer: By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of; and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same Church." Henry Tuberville, An Abridgment of the Christian Doctrine (1833 approbation), p.58 (Same statement in Manual of Christian Doctrine, ed. by Daniel Ferris [1916 ed.], p.67)

"Some theologians have held that God likewise directly determined the Sunday as the day of worship in the NEW LAW, that he himself has explicitly substituted sunday for the Sabbath. But this theory is entirely abandoned. It is now commonly held that God simply gave His church the power to set aside whatever day or days she would deem suitable as holy days. The church chose sunday, the first day of the week, and in the course of time added other days as holy days." John Laux A Course in Religion for Catholic High Schools and Academies 1936, vol.1 p.51

"Sunday is a Catholic institution, and... can be defended only on Catholic principles.... From beginning to end of Scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first." Catholic Press, Aug. 25, 1900

"The Sabbath was Saturday, not Sunday. The Church altered the observance of the Sabbath to the observance of Sunday. Protestants must be rather puzzled by the keeping of Sunday when God distinctly said, 'Keep holy the Sabbath Day.' The word Sunday does not come anywhere in the Bible, so, without knowing it they are obeying the authority of the Catholic Church." Canon Cafferata, The Catechism Explained, p. 89.

''Reason and sense demand the acceptance of one or the other of these alternatives: either Protestantism and the keeping holy of Saturday, or Catholicity and the keeping holy of Sunday. Compromise is impossible.'' John Cardinal Gibbons, The Catholic Mirror, December 23, 1893

Question: "What does it mean that the church has been grafted in Israel’s place?"
Once AGAIN you try to FORCE your ideas onto the scripture.

That passage has nothing, I repeat NOTHING, to do with the "church" the body of Christ. That passage refers to a time BEFORE the body of Christ was established when gentiles could join with Israel.
Answer: In Romans 11:11–24 Paul compares Israel to the natural branches of a cultivated olive tree and the Gentile believers to the branches of a wild olive tree. The body of Christ is NEITHER Jew NOR Greek. It has nothing to do with Israel. That is also why Paul says this:
2Co 5:16-17 KJV Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. (17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The NEW CREATURE is not a "grafted into Israel" creature.
