Major spike in business bankruptcies due to lockdowns

Already did thanks and enough with the spouting yourself. I "think" they work because they've been shown to. I keep track on the figures over here thanks but here's a little study for you to read yourself.

Oh, and to say there's no evidence to support evolution is just silly. Your religious beliefs are entirely irrelevant to the fact that the theory of evolution is globally accepted in the scientific community because of the evidence that supports it.

Numbers dropping in countries that have enacted them. Easy enough to find out, do a google search.

Common sense should tell you why. If we'd kept everything opening including super spreader events like football matches then the virus would have a field day of its own. Our NHS was struggling to cope with the escalating cases as it was. That's why people were coming out of retirement to help out.

The fallout is certainly considerable and I've never made light of the negatives from the get go. The alternative, to just let everywhere stay open with no restrictions would have been worse. This is a pandemic, not a case of the sniffles.

Again.... almost NO DIFFERENCE in outcomes with COMPLETELY DIFFERENT "lockdowns". Florida had almost NO lockdown whatsoever, whereas California's was one of the MOST STRICT.

Florida has one of the OLDEST populations in the US, California one of the YOUNGEST. From the link that you posted:
It’s worth noting that Floridians are older, with a median average age of 42, while California registers a peppy 37. More than 21 percent of Florida’s population is at least 65 years old, compared to less than 15 percent in California. That makes Florida more susceptible to a virus that disproportionately preys on older residents.
Facts are nothing to a "true believer" like you.

As the article states at the end, Gov De Santis might have wanted to find another punching bag before mouthing off. I realize there's nothing that would convince you of the effectiveness of lockdowns but hey, that's okay. You'd have probably kept everything open if you'd be in charge, right? All sporting venues, massive crowd events with no need for safety protocols?

I guess that you cannot tell the difference between completely shutting down everything and "safety protocols".

You are retarded.

Of course I can tell the difference and I see you're reduced to childishly and hypocritically insulting those with an opposing view. Ho hum.

Nothing "childish and hypocritical" about it.
Sure there is, by your own standards no less. You're the one who had a go at me over a response to Hilltrot that ironically, wasn't even an insult. You're the one who stated that it's childish to do so when engaging with someone of an opposing view and twice now, you've indulged in name calling so it does indeed make you childish and a hypocrite. It's on you.

As before, of course there's a difference between lockdowns and safety protocols so you were wrong to presume that I'd concluded that there was no differentiation between them.

There is nothing childish or hypocritical about properly identifying your problem.

YOU are the one claiming that I did not want any "safety protocols". You cannot understand the simple difference between a proper response to a disease and what lockdowns in places like California did. You are quite dumb indeed.

Sure there is, not only were you indulging and continuing to indulge in personal jibes, you'd made an erroneous presumption that I equated lockdowns with safety protocols. Much like the time where you bizarrely claimed that I believed that scientific theories are based on consensus. So by your own standards you're being childish. Which you are being frankly. Look dude, fling out names as much as you want, water off a ducks back to me but it doesn't reflect very well on you.

I didn't state any such thing. There's a difference between a statement and a question or did you miss the '?' at the end?

I would protect the vulnerable and let everyone else live their lives.
I would not destroy more than the disease.
In the case of a pandemic, most people are vulnerable to the disease. In what way would you 'destroy' not more than the disease? By what measures and how? What protocols would you advocate to reduce the spread of infection? What restrictions, if any, would you enforce? What advice would you seek from experts in the field to aid you in deciding on the best course of action?

Steady on there.........!
That stretches slightly beyond any comfortable armchair!

You spoil everything for these armchair critics who rip apart every decision by any authority not within their tribal circle..... the fun bit. And then you ask them how they would save their countries etc and cause such upset because they do not know! That's wickedness.

A dishonest question is not a real question.
All difficult questions should be labelled as dishonest and set aside as 'unreal'.
All easy questions should be answered at length in order to maximise on ones apparent academic profile.

So most of Arthur's questions are going to be a bit tough for you.......... dishonest.

How dare you insult me like that?! Oh, in context, you actually weren't. Well, let's see if RD has a substantial reply to bring to the table if he bothers to do so.

The News this morning reported that President Biden has called the decision to open up Texas and discard masks as 'Neanderthal' ................

Yes, I saw it and I posted a video of that on an adjoining thread. "Way 2 Go's" I think.

My mistake, it was jefferson's on the 'coronavirus scam'
