For what cause are sinners rejected by God?

Because God simply takes pleasure in rejecting them? Because they sin? Because they will not repent? Because they can not hear or understand God? Because God does what God pleases and does not have to explain Himself?

I believe God does tell us why He rejects some sinners and not others.

2 Thessalonians 2

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Is there any doubt that God rejects sinners who refuse to believe and receive the witness of the Holy Spirit that they may be saved?

Because God simply takes pleasure in rejecting them?
GOD takes no pleasure in the death of anyone, even the wicked, and would rather see them repent:
GOD does all things for HIS pleasure but HE takes NO PLEASURE in the death of the wicked - therefore HE did not create them evil to go to hell or reject them for HIS pleasure! Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked...

Also, HE wants all people to be saved, 1 Timothy 2:4...who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. so whether HE will get this want fulfilled or not, HE obviously did NOT create anyone evil and without hope for salvation, ie, destined to hell at creation!

Because they sin?
The wages of sin is death, either the worldly death of the sinful elect or the eternal death of the reprobate.
John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This verse implies they have never believed in the name of the Son, ie, in HIS attributes and His claims to be the only saviour from the consequences of sinfulness. What do they believe instead? They believe that YHWH is a liar and a false god, the unforgivable sin, and there is no such thing as sin, judgement or hell. This sinful choice to reject HIM as their god enslaved them to sin and put themselves outside of HIS saving mercy for eternity and they cannot save themselves, even if the truth is proven to them as per Rom 1:18+, ie, their enslavement to evil will always corrupt the truth they hear because they love sin more than the truth.

Because they can not hear or understand God?

Their chosen sinfulness is eternal and they cannot follow what they hear about GOD due to their enslavement to the addictive quality of evil. Re-read Rom 1:18 to the end.

Because they will not repent?
Because they cannot repent because their own choice to reject him as their GOD was by their free will decision and HE will not go against their free will decision to reject HIM for ever as our free will decisions must be sacrosanct or they are not free at all!

IF they can repent but won't then there will be people in hell who could be saved IF ONLY HE had waited long enough for them to repent!! I believe that the nature of HIS love is such that if all that needs to be done for them to be saved is to wait for them to repent then HE will wait for eternity for them to repent as perfect love is perfectly patient, 1 Cor 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. To suggest that HE condemns them for repenting too slowly is to blaspheme HIS loving nature as deficient, the great Arminian failure.

Because God does what God pleases and does not have to explain Himself?
This is true but it is also true that it does not please HIM to have to judge sinners and condemn them to hell so HE would never do that by HIS will but only by being forced to do it due to the sacrosanct free will of the person to make themselves eternally evil, ie, eternally unfit to enter the heavenly marriage therefore fit only to be secluded forever from HIS holy polite society by being sent to the outer darkness.

For rejecting the Holy Spirit/God the truth.

"And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven" (Luke 12:10).
