Wasn't sure where best to post this. I know it's not exactly a Creation Science topic, per se, but from the link it may be apparent why I chose to put it here, anyway. Throughout my adult life I've been kind of a jazz snob, yet I did "grow up" with a lot of rock music (and still can't help liking a lot of it), and so it would be difficult for me to not have a soft spot for Ozzy, and I truly hope he can now R.I.P. Having remembered this, and other things I've heard, I have a glimmer of hope for Ozzy:

I'm Led Zeppelin and Grand Funck listener, not a fan of Ozzy.

I have heard about the Ark Encounter, and this is the first time I see the pictures of such a modern monument. If the modern copy is a replica of the original, then Noah built a huge cruise. If took him 120 years to make it, then surely carried sauna and indoor swimming pool.

I wonder if that replica is more a boat than an ark. It is understood that civilization before the floor was very advanced and was able to make even fancy models of boats, but the purpose of the ark was essentially the capability to float in middle of huge waves, handle heavy rain, etc. The current replica of the ark looks like more a boat made to travel thru the waters from one place to another. That replica doesn't fit very well for the purpose of the ark.

Im pretty sure Answers in Genesis started out with something more like what you describe for their ark models, but they likely tested them and found a need to put a proper prow and stern on it to keep it more stable. The Ark Encounter in Kentucky features a number of suppositions about engineering that might have been necessary for living in such a craft for so long. For instance, how to keep the air fresh throughout the ark.

A glimmer, a touch, a crumb, a dash, a pinch, a mustard seed, is all one needs:

$$ Lu 17:6
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

I see. In my opinion, the ark should have not front or rear but just two ends similar one to the another. No one was supposed to "navigate" it thru the waters but just live under its protection for a while. Just my opinion.

Could be. I haven't done the water-based experiments. Maybe you should try it and see what happens. Let me know how it goes.

I do experiments but in this case a scale ark in a swimming pool won't work, and I have no budget to build an ark following the biblical measurements. I have my opinion based on what the text implies, not a captain to take family and animals to a safe place but just an ark capable to resist rain and water waves, which by being of such a great size the ark must have to enjoy of affordable balance to maintain itself afloat. The scenario of the moment calls for strong winds, and I have no idea if the beings inside were capable to sleep.

You have to remember, they only had to live in the boat for part of a year. After that, they were going to have all the space they could handle, but when escaping from the Flood, it was going to be cramped. How many months were they at sea? It took British ships sometimes four months to get to Australia (compared to six weeks to get to America), was the ark only going to be needed for six months, and then abandoned, because it would never be needed again? Probably Noah and his family took apart the ark to use the wood to build (homes).

Point being, there was no "return trip back to England, from Australia," with the ark. One-way trip. You just had to get to Australia safely (survive for four months), and then everything was going to be fine after that.
